もともとクラシックを聴いたことがなかった私ですが、先輩の薦めで購入し聴きだしました。クライバーのベートーベンでは4番と7番が有名だそうですが、私はこの5番の第4楽章がものすごく好きです。3楽章から4楽章へ移るときの鳥肌の立つような盛り上がり方は言葉では言い尽くせません。以来他の指揮者と聞き比べ、改めてクライバーの指揮の凄味を感じています。このほかにも私の知らない素晴らしい音楽がたくさんあると思うと楽しくてしょうがありません。クラシックを普段聞かない方も是非一度試聴してみてください。

一音一音に感情がこもる、素晴らしい演奏です。
伝説的な指揮者による演奏という先入観も
聴き初めにはあったのですが、簡単に吹き飛ばされました。

特に5番の第2楽章。
何百回と別の演奏家で聞いているにも関わらず、
別の曲か？と思わせるほどのみずみずしさがありました。

7番の第4楽章に至ってはいうまでもありませんが、
神々しさを通り越して宇宙の果てまで行ってしまうのでは
というぐらいの迫力です。

指揮者が余程の確信をもたないと、これほどの演奏は生まれないでしょう。
作曲家もこの演奏なら納得するだろう・・・
と思わせる人類の宝です。

5.0 out of 5 stars 今までも、今も、これからも、「定番」で「決定盤」！, 2008/7/20
カルロス・クライバー指揮の５番と７番については、
その素晴らしさについては語り尽くされている感があり、
いまさらなにをコメントするの？・・・って感じではありますが、
それでもやっぱり何か書かずにはいられない。（苦笑）

いわゆる「名曲名盤特集の本や特集」で、
発売以来ずっとベト５と７演奏の「ザ・ベスト」としての
栄えある指定席を守り続けるこのＣＤ、
最近改めてじっくりと聴いて、
やはりこれは今なお、
ベト５とベト７の「定番（スタンダード）」にして、「決定盤（ベスト）」であり、
今後もそうあり続けるだろうな・・・という確信を持ちました。
（７番に関してはベーム追悼コンサートのバイエルン国立管や、
ＤＶＤのアムステルダムコンセルトヘボウ管が個人的には好みですが・・・
来日公演時の４番・７番のＤＶＤ化が待ち遠しい！）

上に書いたことと矛盾するようですが、
カルロス・クライバーを同時代体験するには遅く生まれ過ぎた私としては、
この２０世紀を代表するクライバー盤を越える素晴らしいベト５と７の演奏を、
２１世紀の『今』を生きる若く才能あふれる指揮者とオケのＣＤによって
生きているうちに聴いてみたい、ライブで体験してみたい、
と密かに、切に思っています。

「その日」は来るのでしょうか・・・
