本作は、コンサートやＴＶ番組でのステージ、ＰＶの盛り合わせで映像面からロキシーの７２年から８２年までの、まさにスリル満点のロキシーの歴史を映像面で振り返る好企画。ディスク１に７２年から７６年までのいわゆる第１期を代表する１８曲、ディスク２に７９年の復活から８２年までの第２期を代表する１８曲＋２曲（ボーナス映像としてザ・メイン・シングとアヴァロンのＰＶ）の映像をそれぞれ撮影年の順に収録している。このうち、ディスク２は「オン・ザ・ロード・ライヴ１９７９」と「ザ・ハイ・ロード」からそれぞれ４曲を収録し、またＰＶが多くなるので、「オン・ザ・ロード・ライヴ１９７９」と「ザ・ハイ・ロード」（それぞれお薦めの作品）を既に持っている人には面白みが足りないかもしれない。もっとも、ディスク２、＃１はＢＢＣのABBA in Switzerlandに出演したときの「ダンス・アウェイ」で、これは貴重。しかし、本作の魅力はディスク１の方が上回っている。＃１〜７がイーノ在籍時の映像で、フェリー、マンザネラ、マッケイ等の衣装やメイクがグラム・ロック華やかし時代を感じさせる。そして７５年ロンドン・ウェンブリーでの１曲（＃１３）、７６年のストックホルムでのライヴ・ステージ５曲（＃１４〜１８）が圧巻。フェリーがＧＩルックをしていた頃で、彼は口ひげをはやしていたのですね。エディ・ジョブソンが透明ヴァイオリンをかき鳴らす「アウト・オブ・ザ・ブルー」を目にできるだけで本作を買ってよかったと思う。この素晴らしいディスク１、＃１３〜１８の曲目だけ紹介しておこう。ボウス・エンズ・バーニング、ザ・スリル・オブ・イット・オール、マザー・オブ・パール、ナイチンゲール、アウト・オブ・ザ・ブルー、そしてストリート・ライフである。

ビデオでも発売されていたPVや海賊盤でも出回っていたライブが綺麗な映像で見れるのは貴重です。以前発売されていたヒストリービデオ・トータルリコールの長編版的意味合いも あります。是非次はフェリーのベストも出して欲しいです。

特異なスタンスを貫き今なお尖がっているロキシーミュージック。淡々と綴られるライブパフォーマンスは孤高の美しさに溢れている。これがロックだっ！不協和音でロックするのはこのロキシーだけです。
