この手の時計が好きならルックスは十分に希望に適うでしょう。また機能も十二分です。でもＧショックにこの値段はどうでしょうか？ちょっと買えませんよカシオさん。奥さんに内緒で思い切って買ってばれても、まさかこの値段には思われないでしょうからあまり怒られないかもしれません。蓄光針が曜日針だけなのは納得できません。２４時間針はともかく秒針は暗闇でも見たいのは僕だけ？

ひとつの完成形として「8000」という型番がそれをあらわしている。

チタンに施されたDLC（ダイヤモンドライクコーティング）は、本体からベルトからすべてを包み、小さな傷すら寄せ付けない。たとえ鍵束の中でもそれはしかり。傷一つできない。

しかも光線の具合で金属の肌合いは、様々な色相を見せる。虹色なのか、漆黒の闇なのか……。独特の表面処理はブラック・オニキスのようだ。ただのチタンということを忘れ、あたかも新しく発見された貴金属なのでは……と錯覚してしまう。
そして時計の針はすべて目視できない範囲でぴたりと時を指し示す……。クロノグラフは計測を終えたとき、時を遡るかのように役目に戻る。節制である。

いろいろな制限の中、これだけの雰囲気を「G」という世界に凝縮したカシオに敬意を表したい。日常で使用していてもいかつ過ぎず、目立ちすぎない――だけど強烈な印象を残す。まるで銘を持った日本刀ようだ。着用しているだけでオーナーを守る、あたかも懐刀である。いざとうときは敵に対して鎧通しのような威力を持つかもしれない……。

こればかりは実際に身に着てみるまでわからないことであろう。
