Following on the heels of his Ballad for Edvard Grieg album, Leif Ove Andsnes returns again to the music and life of Edvard Grieg in this DVD documentary. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Grieg's death, Andsnes guides us through the ups and downs of the composer's life, punctuating the narrative with performances of his works (including a breathtaking rendition of the Ballade in G Minor atop the cliffs of Norway, and an intimate recital of the Lyric Pieces in Grieg's home in Troldhaugen).
