イタリアのカイヤリに生まれたアレサンドラオーラは、1965年代ニューヨーク大学のグリーンウィッチ・ハウス・ポトゥリー及びアート・スチューデント・リーグの彫刻部門で学ぶ。また、マンハッタンのアースワークス・ギャラリー・エコールにて活動。その後メキシコにてインドの伝統的な陶芸技術を習得。彼女の創り出す、どこか儚げで繊細な世界は現在多くの人の支持を得ている。
