長編の時代劇って面白いんだけど、時にだらだら感を感じるのがたまに瑕。
しかしソドンヨに関してはそれが全くありませんでした。
子役時代からテンポあるストーリーで目が離せません。
監督が同じなのでＢＧＭとかもチャングムとかぶってる気がしましたが、
そんなに気になりませんでした。
むしろチャングムより「愛」が全面にあふれてて胸キュン多し。
でもちゃんと政権争という「男気」もあって、
とてもいい構成だと思いました。
ヒョンジェ良いです。
上品！これはヒョンジェにしかない持ち味です。

　ロマンスカラーも十分にありますが男性も楽しめますし、展開の速さは、５５話を長いと感じさせません。主役、脇役どちらも魅力ある人物ばかりで飽きさせません。
　朱蒙や海神あたりも気に入った作品ですが戦闘シーンの多さが気になりましたが、ソドンヨは、男女の情愛、親子愛、師弟愛、友情そして愛国心などさまざまな愛のかたちを自然に描いていると思います。少々臭い台詞や設定もありますが、ご愛嬌といえる範囲ではないでしょうか。
　戦争や内紛を避けられない多くの国の歴史に触れると日本人としてもただの人間としても心が痛みますがこの作品をみて韓国の歴史をもっと知りたく、珍しく勉強してみたくなりました。

5.0 out of 5 stars イ･ビョンフン監督作品、地味でも出来はチャングムに負けてない！, 2008/2/13
イ･ビョンフン監督のドラマの中でも、視聴率はいまひとつだったようですが、作品としての完成度は決して低くありません。

自分の身分を知らず育った王子チャンが、その運命と能力に気づき、成長していく姿は見ごたえがあります。
チョ・ヒョンジェは、回を重ねるにつれ、だんだんと主役のオーラみたいなものも出てきます。
ソンファ姫（イ･ボヨンはけなげで美しいです）との愛、ギルとの確執（ライバルがリュ・ジンだからこそ主役が引き立ちます）、モッラスとの師弟愛（影の主役はイ・チャンフンかもしれません）、そして宮廷の権力闘争などなど・・・女性も男性も楽しめるドラマになっていると思います。
全５５話がまったく長く感じません。

このドラマに出会って、私は韓国語を習いはじめ、ロケ地もたずねてしまいました。
このドラマによって、自分の新しい世界が広がった、記念すべき作品です。
歴史ドラマが好きなみなさんに、ぜひ一度見ていただきたいと思います。
