スタジオ録音なみ、ライヴ離れの高音質。アルトゥーロ・ベネデッティ=ミケランジェリ・ライヴ・イン・東京1973。巨匠の貴重な日本でのリサイタルを完全収録!巨匠ミケランジェリといえば大変なキャンセル魔ですが、この録音も当初予定していたリサイタルをキャンセルされ、かろうじて録音が許されたのがこの日のリサイタル。しかし録音していみるとFM 東京の録音陣を気に入った様子で当時のプロデューサー東条碩夫(現音楽ジャーナリスト)氏の談話によるとかなり協力的で大変満足なものであったようです。NHKにはリサイタルの録音は既に残っていないので日本における唯一のオリジナルテープが現存するリサイタル録音がこれと申せましょう。その貴重な音源を復刻するにあたってはアナログからデジタルへの変換に通常以上に時間をかけキングスタジオに残るこれも日本で唯一の現役稼動しているテレフンケンのオープンリール再生機で必要以上に丁寧にオリジナルのアナログテープをトランスファーいたしました。[録音:1973年10月29日東京文化会館(ライヴ)]

　ミケランジェリは、周知のとおりその完璧主義的性格からほんの
少しでも自分が納得いかないときは、直前にコンサートをキャンセル
することが珍しくなく、逆にそれが評判を呼ぶという形で名声を博した。
また、ミケランジェリは録音嫌いで知られ、かれの演奏を録音した
ＣＤ（ライヴ録音を除く）は多くない。

　そういった意味でもこの1973年のライヴ録音は貴重であり、
それが高音質で聞けることはありがたい。彼の演奏会のライヴ録音は
数多あれど、録音状態がよくないことが多い。
しかし、この録音は、文句なしに良い。

　また、この演奏会では、後半にラヴェルの「高雅で感傷的なワルツ」、
「夜のガスパール」が入っているが、ミケランジェリの響きが高音質で
味わえるのが最高である。
「夜のガスパール」はいくつかライヴ録音があるが、これが最良の出来だと思う。
音質もさながら特に「スカルボ」は、
不気味な響きと、躍動感あふれるリズム感が絶妙なバランスで調和されている。
もちろん、前半のシューマンとショパンもミケランジェリらしく
すばらしい出来だ。

　ミケランジェリファンならずとも少しでも彼の他の演奏
（ドビュッシーが多いと思うが。）を聞いたことのある人なら
ぜひとも買っておきたい一品である。

　二枚組みだからこの値段は仕方がないだろう。
