この４０GBは「PS3のゲーム」をやりたい人にはお得なモデルだと思います。
値段も39,980円（税込）と、Xbox360（通常版）とほぼ同額となり今までネックだった高額さも少し和らいだ印象です。
しかし、この４０GBはPS2との互換性が無く、マルチメモリーカードスロット、SACDプレイバック機能などが省かれ、U
SBポートが現行の4つから2つに減りました。
私は６０GBを所持していますがPS3のゲームをする以外はDVDを見るぐらいで、上記のマルチメモリーカードスロット、
SACD等は全く使っていません。・・・てかSACDって何？（笑）
やはりPS3を買うのはPS3のゲームソフトを遊ぶためなので、あまり使わない機能を排除して安く購入できるこのモデル
は良いかもしれません。ただ、PS2ソフトの互換が無いことだけは注意してください。（PS2を持っている人はPS2でやれ
ば良いだけですけど）
新色のセラミック・ホワイトもなかなか良いですね。

3機種揃える為に買ったPS3ですが、これは中々いいハードですね。
ビックリしたのが、電源がボタン式でなかったことや、音が静か、あとセラミックホワイトと言うことなので、非常に見栄えがよくて綺麗でした。
最近PS3とXbox360でのマルチが多く、結局はXbox360の方に行ってしまう方も多いようですが、PS3はPS3でアンチャーテッドや龍が如く、戦場のヴァルキュリアなど、非常に評判の良いPS3独占タイトルもあるので、買って損はないと思います。個人的にはHAZEをやりたいですね。
かく言う俺もまだ体験版でしか遊んでいないものが多いですが、買って後悔はしてません。願わくばどれが生き残るとかではなく、3機種バランスよく勢力を維持できればといいなと思いますけどね。

本体は２０ＧＢ,４０ＧＢ,６０ＧＢの３種類ありますが４０ＧＢを選んだ理由はやっぱ安いからですね。

前機のPS2のコントローラと比べてみると，LR2ボタンが少し改良されてます。
どのように改良されているかと言うと，PS2でのLR2ボタンは「カチッ」と押しますが，
PS3は「カシュッ」ってなみたいな感じで押し込むタイプになってます。
それと,電源ボタンは押すのではなく，ボタン上を軽く触れるだけで電源がついたのには驚きました。
ただ，不満な点は振動コントローラを同根して欲しかったです。
