北欧ニュークラブジャズシーンをリードする
Ricky TickからのナイスなJazzFunkアルバム！
おっTeddy Rokのバンドでしょ？Five Corners Quintetっぽいの？
と思っている方、残念。
Five Corners Quintetの面影は全くありません。

肝心の内容ですが・・・
さすがはTeddy Rok、60〜70代のDeep Funkで聞ける
打っている生のドラムブレイク満載。
Jazzファンにはキツイかもしれませんが、HIPHOPリスナーこそ必聴。
それもそのはず、6. Capricorn は Cannonball Ardley / Capricorn のカバー！
もちろんドラム打って打ってうねってます。
これだけで買いでしょう。

純粋なJazzFunkアルバムとして買う、これ大事です。

The Five Corners Quintet (FCQ) のドラマーTeddy Rok主導のバンドの一枚目。
香りはFCQが60年代風とすれば、70年代風の感が強い。
ドラマー主導だけあって渋めの踊れるJazzとなっているが、ドラムの音が強すぎて疲れてしまい、アルバム一枚聞き通すのは楽ではない。
また、ドラムが生Jazzの有機的なたたき方ではなく、ひたすら打ち込みのような無機的なたたき方であるため、ドラマーがリーダーである長所が感じられない！！

ジョン・ボーナム(Led Zeppelin)を思い浮かべて買ってみたら、レニ(The stone roses)だった・・・、という気分です。
