復刻第一弾の最後は1982年発売のこのアルバムです。
5枚目となるこのアルバムは惜しくも初登場2位でした。

松任谷正隆、大村雅朗、原田真二…松田聖子のアルバムに共通するクレジットは
ポップで華やかなこの作品の象徴です。ハードなサウンドのスマッシュヒット曲
「I'm A Woman」、正隆氏ならではのしなやかなアレンジが美しい「一年前の恋人」
ハイトーンボイスが堪能できる「FLY AWAY」、独特のエフェクトや旋律が楽しい
「ナイス・メモリーズ」、大村節全開の繊細かつスケール感溢れる名曲「二人だけ」

バラエティーに富んだ内容ながら、1つの作品としてまとまっています。
そしてこれまで以上に艶っぽさが加わったボーカルは余裕すら感じさせます。
ポップで明るい八神純子が好きだ、という方には一番ハマるアルバムかもしれません。

30年近くレコード/CDを買っているが、その中の一番お気に入り。レコードを持っていたけど、気軽に聞けるCDを購入してしまった。レコード発売から25年くらい経過したけど、聞き直して「やはり、良い」というのが率直な感想。

歌は歌唱力ではない、というのが私の考え方で伴奏アレンジを楽しんだり、その時代背景に想いをはせたりいろんな味わいかたで音楽を楽しんでいますが、このアルバム、特に「シークレット...」ではただただ彼女の最高の歌唱力にひきずりこまれました。 最近の中途半端な"実力派"シンガーは安易な歌唱力で歌っている風をやめなければならないのです。
