1980年発売、彼女の4枚目のアルバムで1位に輝きました。
前半が新曲で、5曲目以降がベストという変則的な仕様になっています。

ビートルズのフレーズを引用した個性的な1曲目や、唯一の松本隆作詞「愛色の季節」
ボサの心地よさが味わえる「Be My Best Friend」前半だけでもかなり楽しませてくれます。

後半は大ヒット曲の「パープルタウン」やドラマティックな「甘い生活」、最高傑作との
呼び声も高い「想い出のスクリーン」、1st収録の「時の流れに」のリテイクと盛りだくさん。

八神純子のアルバムを聴いてみたいけれどどれがいいかな?、という方にもこのアルバムはオススメです。

　最初ベスト盤だから、今回の紙ジャケ再発シリーズの中で唯一購入していなかったのですが、「想い出のスクリーン」がオリジナル・アルバム未収録ということで、後から買いました。
　よく確認してみたら、「甘い生活」「パープルタウン」もオリジナル未収録。
　それと、ジャケットを見て気づいたんですが、家に唯一残っている八神純子のLPがこれでした！
　Ａ面４曲が新録です。
　つまり、全１０曲のうち、７曲がこれでしか聴けないわけで...結局、今回の紙ジャケは総て購入の必要あり、ということになりそうです。
　新録も最初の１曲を除きすばらしいできで、特に、個人的には「愛色の季節」が好きです。
　LPは2800円だったのに、CDは税込み2500円。良い時代になったものです...
　密度があまりに濃いので、ジャケットの紙の薄さによる減点は無しです！

発売当時、「時の流れに」が新録音されてたことが話題になってましたが、それよりも「想い出のスクリーン」がシングル盤とは違うテイクで入ってたことの方が驚きでした。　全部持ってても買わなきゃならんファン泣かせのベスト。　ヤガマニア的には嬉しい再発です。　レコード会社さま、ありがとう！
《追記》　「想い出のスクリーン」はシングルと同じテイクに差し替えられたみたい。　ある種、残念ですわ。　でも「みずいろの雨」もシングル・バージョンなので、これでいいのかも。
