確かに賛否両論というか、マイナスな意見が多かったですし、私も輸入盤の購入を躊躇していました。
個人的には、買ってよかったなと思っています。
一番楽曲のアレンジに好みが分かれるのかと思いますが、十分に楽しめますし、
国内盤のボートラがなにげにメロディがもろ、ガールズ・ロックの王道って感じで嬉しかったです。
声はやっぱりイイですし、安心して聴けます。
ただ、ジャケットに関してはメーカーさんにもうちょっと考えて欲しいです。
PVもお金かかっているし、アー写くらいきちんとしたものを用意して欲しいな。。。
ガールズ系はこういうところも楽しみなのだし、初めてスカイを知った人の購買意欲を下げてしまうと思いますし。
でもボ−トラがいいのと、解説は伊藤なつみさんなので、国内盤をオススメします！

2003年、シングルBilly.SでデビューしたSkye Sweetnamの
実に3年ぶりとなるセカンドアルバム！


Skyeの地元カナダでは昨年10月に既にリリースされ、
日本でも輸入版が割りと売れていたらしい。

今回は前作よりもかなりパンク色の強いクールな仕上がりに。



ここの評価を見ても、賛否両論だがどっちの言い分もわかる。


要するに・・・
これは！という名曲がない、けど捨て曲もない。


全体的に☆４的な曲が多い。
流れるようなテンポのいい曲で構成され、
収録時間も43分と短いのであっと言う間に聴ける。
いい感じに韻を踏んでて聴き心地もいい。

Popさが薄れた感じはしない。
Skyeらしさは健在。
ガール・パンク・ポップと捉えるといいかも。

ま、AvrilにしろAna Johnssonにしろ、1stのイメージにとりつかれた人は
やたらと2ndを叩きたがるものですが、どれも繰り返し聴くうちにはまっていきます。
（スピッツのアルバムみたいに。）

Skye Sweetnamを知らない方で明るいポップロックが聴きたい人は1stアルバム
Noise From The Basementをどうぞ。
いや、もっと飛んでるうーッ クールだわあーーーッって曲が聴きたい人は
このアルバムは是非オススメ！

もともとファンの人もすぐに投げ出さないでじっくり聴いてみれば結構はまります。

オススメは、
2．Human　（リードシングル）
4．Ghost
7．(Lets Get Movin') Into Action
8．Cartoon
11．Kiss A Girl

かな？個人的に。
（全部好きだが）

ちなみに13曲目に国内盤のみのBonus Track：Girl Like Meを収録しています。
（これも個人的にお気に入り。）

大抵のアーティストというものは1枚目で成功すると、2枚目はイマイチだったり、叩かれたりするものだけど、スカイはそうではない。
だいたいそういうアーティストは、2枚目でガラッと印象を変えてくるのだけど、スカイは1枚目での曲調を踏襲しながらも、パンク色を少し強くした感じに進化していると思う。

1枚目がよかっただけに、最初はイマイチぱっとしないかもしれないけれど、聴けば聴くほどにその良さが滲みでてくる良作。

ガールズ・ロック/ポップ系が好きな人には、1枚目「Noise From The Basement」の方が聴きやすいと思います。
でも、もっとパンクでぶっ飛んでてスカーッとしたいぞ！！っていうような人には、この2枚目「Sound Soldier」をオススメします。
音量を大にして聴きたいアルバムです♪

個人的にオススメ曲は・・・
（聴きこむと全部良く思えてくるので、特にオススメな曲）
