先行シングル「沸点３６℃」は久々に突き抜けたアップナンバーで大満足だった。
やはりイースタンはこれだよ！と言いたくなる様な、改心のシングルだった。

そこから一ヶ月、いよいよ到着した渾身のニュー・アルバムがこの「地球の裏から風が吹く」
である。正にイースタンの真骨頂といえる充実の内容だ。

ここのところイースタンは疾走感のある音像からどっしりと構えたような、
どちらかといえばミドルテンポの楽曲が多くなっていて、実際このアルバムでも
半数がそれだったりするのだが今回、後の半数はまた以前のような、
激しく疾走感のあるナンバーになってるのがミソだ。
これによってバランスが取れ、正直今が最高では？と言ってもいいほど
バンドとしてトータリティとカタルシスに溢れた作品になっている。

個人的に特に好きなのは「野良犬、走る」と「白昼の行方不明者」。
吉野寿の書く歌詞というのはいつの時も深みや、悲しみ、前に進もうという意思が
篭っているが、この２曲はそこから更に突き抜けたインパクトを感じる。
「野良犬、走る」のサビでまるでくたくたになった長距離走者が歌ってるような
必死で熱い歌声、だがそれは絶望ではなく精一杯の希望を託してる気がして。
だからこそ心のど真ん中まで直に響く歌、演奏が出来るのだと思う。

個人的にこのままイースタンが知る人ぞ知る音楽で終わって欲しくはない。
この３人が叫び、演奏し続ける限り私はずっとこの音楽を聴き、推していきたい。

俺はサラリーマン。 おそらく吉野さんから見たら、『ケッ!』 という存在かもしれない。 でも俺は俺のフィールドで死ぬ気で戦ってる。 会社の為? 家族の為? ふざけんな! 俺の為だ! 仲間と思ってた奴は結局、利害共有だったし、誰もがみんな自己保身だ。 孤独だし、辞めそうだよ。内心は。 吉野さん、あなたと同じだよ。 だから、だからこそ。 この歌を届けてくれて、ありがとう。 俺にはあなたの戦いとその道すがらに見る風景の描写に聞こえるよ。俺も同じ風景を見てます。

悪くないアルバム。でも足りない。eastern youthに求めてるのはコレじゃないだろうと思ってしまった。安定してしまっている。別のレビューの方も言われているが、癒しじゃないだろう、と。人様には諦めているかのようにみせて、内面ではジリジリと焦燥感が焦げ付いているような感覚が良さだったように思える。次に、期待したい。
