音速ラインによく言えることですが、今回のアルバムも短い曲が多いです。でもアルバムの内容が薄いということはないのでご心配なく。

すでにリリースされている曲はシングルだと『真昼の月』『恋うた』『青春色』で、アルバムも含めれば『未来サントラ』『ありがとうの唄』です。ただ、最後に挙げた2曲は今までのものとは別バージョン。

音速ラインを聴いたことがない方に。このバンドは激しい曲も静かな曲も両方あるけれど、どちらも高くてきれいな男性ヴォーカルで聴かせてくれます。素直に「かっこいい!」「切ない!」と言える曲ばかりです。 私はどの曲も好きなので「音速ラインならこのアルバム」と決められません。この『三枚おろし』があなたの初音速でもいいと思います。是非聴いてみてください。

まず今年３月に出てこのアルバムにも収録されている「真昼の月」からして凄かった。
まるで突然の大豪雨、あるいは雪崩のようにドカドカと鳴るドラムの音！
そこからどんどん流れ込んでくる美メロの嵐！正に音速ラインの「個性」を
一曲で表してしまった曲で、その時点で次のアルバムへの期待は高まっていた。

そこから６月にシングル「恋うた」、そして先月ストリングスを大々的に使った、
とはいっても全然静かな曲調でもアレンジでもないという不思議な曲「青春色」を発売。
この「青春色」、ロックバンドがストリングスを使う場合のパターンを完全に
無視しているので刺激的。しかも激しくテンポ速い曲なのになぜか合ってるし。

それからこのアルバムである。音速ラインは、恐らくシングルだけだと完全な魅力は
伝わらないバンドというのはもう前作で証明済みだと思う。
なぜならば音速ラインはアルバムになると激しさが更に増すからである。
その一つに流れるような曲構成の妙もあると思う。とにかく一曲一曲がテンポが速く
更に曲間も意図的に短くしてるためまさにバンド名の通り「音速」のごとき流れなのだ。

「未来サントラ」はサビのグッドメロディが光る曲で、特に激しいわけじゃないが
サビのとにかく行く、進む感が曲に勢いをもたらしている。
「ヒトカケ」はタイトルにドキっとするもリズムとビートが効いたロックチューン。
またいつものごとく頭の２曲、ケツの一曲は短い曲であり特に２曲目に関しては
今までの音速からしても珍しい一曲かも。完全に洋楽チックというか。

そろそろ音速ラインも唯一無二のギターロックバンドとして認められるべきだと
思った３枚目のアルバム。聴いた事ない人、実はバッキバキのロックバンドなんです。音速は。

今回のアルバム『三枚おろし』は、正直、前回のアルバム『百景』に期待していた
だけに期待値は低かったわけだが、良い意味で裏切られた気分である。
主観的アルバムランキングで言うと、
１、三枚おろし
２、風景描写
３、百景
である。
他のバンドの作品と比べるのは意味が無いのでやめておく。
しかし、アジカン、ELLEGARDEN、RADWIMPSのアルバムと並べても見劣りしない感じ
に成長してきたのは確かだろう。
内容的には、やはりと言うべきか、一つのアルバム全体に一貫性があってイメージ
がつながるという印象である。なので、特にこれがオススメというわけではなく、
全曲オススメなのだが、強いて言うなら、ていうか強いて言っても、やはり全曲、
掛け値無しにオススメであるｗ
彼らのアルバムは、率直に言って、やはりそのアルバム全体の構成を観てもらいた
いと思うわけである。捨て曲？なにそれ？という一貫したスタンスにより生み出さ
れた妥協無き作品こそが真のアートであると再確認させられる作品とも言える。
そして、何より、作品の素晴しさの一要因と言える、情緒、趣きと言った和の風情
を感じさせるロックの中でも、ごく自然にテンションを上げてくれる作品は彼らに
しか出せない持ち味だろう。
