現在ニコラ・コンテのコンボとしても大活躍中のLTC。各メンバーが欧州の新世代ジャズ・シーンを代表するトップ・ミュージシャンである。ルッスは96年からRosario Giuliani's Quartet で活動。
カルテットは97年度「ヨーロッパ・ジャズ・コンテスト」で優勝する。イタリアの参加者が優勝したのは初めてで、一躍時の人となる。以来名だたる音楽家、プロデューサーらとコラボレーション(二コラ・コンテ OTHER DIRECTION ファブリッティオ・ボッソ YOU'VE CHANGED 他)を重ね、ノース・シーやモントルーなど主要ジャズ・フェスティバルの常連となる。
ドラムのトゥッチとベースのチャンカグリーニも、スケーマ・セクステットや自己名義アルバムの制作等、精力的に活動を展開。若手実力派として広く才能が認められている。

LTCは07年6月に アナログ12インチ Easy Does It をリリース。あまりのかっこ良さに、巷のDJを始め世界各地でしびれるファンが続出。ソフィスティケイトされたサウンドは、日本でも瞬時に話題となり、人気クラブ・ジャズ・コンピレーション「Jazz Dancer 2」 に Menino das Laranjas が収録された。
そして満を持して登場するのが本作 A Different View だ !!

Nicola Conteのバンドメンバーによる一枚。
ピアノトリオ形式の作品ということで、バンドの顔とも言えるFabrizio Bossoは当然いない。
彼のトランペットが聴けないとあって、
正直ちょっと物足りない感じのアルバムになっているのではないかと危惧したが、
そんな事は全くなかった。

同じRicky-Tick Recordsに所属するFive Corners QuintetやDalindeoと違い、
ストリングスやフルート、ボーカルが入った曲は１曲もない。
しかし、そのシンプルな構成が逆に重た過ぎず、何度も聴きたくなる。

ピアノトリオってこんなに表現の幅が広いのかと思わせる程、
構成曲も多様性に富んでいる。
節々に漂うブラジル音楽的なサウンドも、
Nicola Conteファンの耳にすっと入ってくるだろう。

秀逸なのは4曲目のMagic Mirror 。
ループするベースラインの上にピアノが優雅に絡み、
まるでラウンジミュージックのような心地よさである。

最初から最後まで上質な音楽を聴かせる、実に素晴らしいアルバム。
イタリアのジャズはやっぱりいい。

ニコラコンテ ジャズコンボのメンバーで構成されたピアノ、ベース、ドラムのトリオ。ピアノジャズってどうしても苦手（眠くなる）だったのですが認識が変わりました。それぞれの音の粒がたってるというか誤魔化しようのない生音の良さを改めて思い知りました。間違いなく07年のベスト5には入ります。
