ジョンの魂は名盤です。ただ、12曲目以降のボーナストラックのおかげで一気に評価を下げてますね。しんみりした「My Mummy's Dead 」に続き、どこの誰がアップテンポな「Power To The People」を聴きたいのでしょうか？　アルバムのコンセプトはめちゃくちゃですね。歴史的遺産の冒涜も甚だしい。ＥＭＩの見識を疑いますね。
仮に、「Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band」の最終の曲「A Day in the Life」の後に、ボーナストラックでホワイトアルバムの「Helter Skelter」が入っていたらどんな気分でしょうか。延々と続くピアノの音で余韻に浸っていたら、ギターの爆音で気分はぶち壊し、てな感じです。
屋下に屋を架す、とはまさにこのこと。余計なことはしないでください。

初めて聞いた時は困惑した
これがビートルズのジョンのソロの第一作かと
それで一緒に買った別の
アーティストのレコードばかり聞いていた

しばらくたってゆっくり聞いてみたら
とんでもないレコードだった

ジョンは
僕らと同じように足が生えていて
僕らと同じように孤独を感じ
僕らと同じような喪失感を覚え
僕らと同じように人を愛していた

彼は天才である前に人間なのだ
このレコードは人生である



余談
このアルバムはリマスターされたこのＣＤより
アナログで聞いたほうが絶対にいいと思う
そしてボーナストラックは無視してください

あらゆる分野を超えて孤高にそびえ立つ作品。宇宙から地球を見据えたような超絶した存在。
釈迦や日蓮が到達した生命感に肉薄する魂。天才という言葉の枠をも超えているその個性。
私がこの作品を聞いてから３５年以上の年月が経つがあまりの強烈なその存在に普段の生活の中でこの作品に相対しまともに向かい合う勇気はない。
