内容紹介

修道院で食事係を務めるドジな男ナチョは、孤児たちに美味しい食事をさせたい一心で、幼いころから憧れていたルチャ・リブレの覆面レスラーになる。相棒のスティーブンとともに厳しい特訓を積んだ後、修道院には秘密でリングに上がるナチョ。彼らは連戦連敗を重ねながらも、チャンピオンのラムセスと戦うチャンスを手にする。果たしてナチョは試合に勝てるのだろうか!?

心優しく不器用な修道士が、自己の夢を乗せてレスラーを目指す。
本来、戒律に触れるこの行為も、修道院の孤児たちのためならば、赦される。
という真面目な解説はさておきまして、全編、ほのぼのした作品です。
主人公、ヒロイン、相棒、子供たち、みんな、いい人で、どこか間が抜けてて、ほのぼの。
試合のシーンは意外に迫力がありましたし、ヒロインは本当に清楚で、主人公は本当に、愛すべき！という感じです。
のんびり、肩の力を抜いて温かくなりたい方にお奨めです。

この映画はヒロインが綺麗で、ズッコケのジャックが段々カッコよく見えるから不思議。

この話、実話だからね〜。
この映画気に入ったら、ジャン・レノ版も見て下さい。
そっちは笑えないけど、良い映画ですよ〜。

公開当時からずっと見たかった作品です。
修道院のプロレス好きな調理係として働くイグニシアスが、修道院で世話をする孤児たちの食事代を稼ぎ、また自己実現のためにも、覆面レスラーとして活動を始めます。
人気は集めたけれども、勝利できないことへの葛藤や、エゴに負けてしまったりしたけれども、最終的には、ハッピーエンドな映画です。
ジャック・ブラックの演技は好きですから、これもやはり良く演じていたと思います。しかしながら、作品全体を評価すると、どうしても物足りなさを感じてしまいます。おそらく先が読める展開などが原因だと思います。
期待しすぎていて、物足りなかったのかもしれません。
