　本稿を書いている時点で既にブレイク中の谷村奈南だが、案の定、そろそろ、批判的なこともいわれ始めているようだ。
　しかし、これは私の「一貫」した主張なのだが、特に、Ｒ＆Ｂやラテンを歌う女性は、基本的にセクシーであるべきだ。痩せ細った女性が歌ったり踊ったりしている方が、「国際基準」（？）から見ればおかしい。彼女がセクシーだからといって一種の色眼鏡で見る人は、失礼ながら、黒人音楽やラテンに必須の生命力を理解していないのではないか。
　本作は、０７年１１月に出た２作目のシングル。こうしたジャンルには詳しくないのだが、１は基本的にＲ＆Ｂ系なのだろう。２のリズムをよく知らないのだが、ちょっとレゲエっぽい感じで入り、ロック化していく。３もＲ＆Ｂといっていいのだろう。全体に、割とロック・テイストがある。
　申しわけないが、作品としてはどうも物足りない。１や３の歌詞は、アメリカのＲ＆Ｂなどのものを直訳したような感じ。更に、いささか強引な押韻が入る。私は詩に興味があるのだが、こうした日本語での押韻にどうもなじめない。名詞を末尾にもってきて体言止めにしたりするのだが、内容が頭に入ってこなくなる。
　黒人音楽は、いま最も人気のあるジャンルの一つだ。だが、類型化してしまう場合も多い。曲が印象に残らなかったり、逆にリズムを強調すると、よほどのトラック以外は、やはり耳に残らなかったり。倖田來未は、未だに「代表曲」にめぐまれない感がある。谷村奈南には、そうした事態は避けて欲しい。
