僕の中では、今のところ今年度NO1のアルバムです。
プログレとか、RUSHみたいとか、難解とか言われてますが
はっきりいってそんなのはガセネタです。いったいこの音楽の
何が難解なんでしょう？とにかくメロディーがすばらしい！
いろんな人にこのメロディーを体感してもらいたいものです。
Voの、ときに女性を思わせるハイトーンがその秀逸なメロディーを
さらに素晴らしいものにしています。
ぜったいに損はしないので、ぜひ買って聞いてみて下さい。
ちなみにRushが難解だといわれてるのも納得いきませんね。
曲はあんなにポップなのに。。。。

アメリカのエモ・ロックバンド、コヒード・アンド・カンブリアの5th。2007作
もともとがただのエモーショナルロックとは思えないドラマ性をもったバンドだったが、
ここに来てそれに拍車がかかり、今作の音には風格すらただようようになった。
前作からその傾向はあったのだが、全体を包むコンセプチュアルな物語性がいっそう機能し、
近未来SF的なジャケとともに、イメージとしてのスケール感が増している。
キャッチーな歌メロと絡むギターもけっこうハードになり、かっこいいフレーズを連発、
ときにDREAM THEATERをも思わせるプログレッシブなドラマ性で聴かせてくれる。
前作同様に中盤はややだれる感じもするが、ラストの24分の組曲は圧巻。
メタル、プログレ、エモ、ポストロック、全てのリスナーが聴ける作品だ。

デビュー以来、エモとかスクリーモとかにジャンル分けされることも多かったが、
本作をあえてジャンル分けするならRockとかHardRockということになるのでは？
今まで以上にエモーショナルだけど、「エモ」といわれる要素は殆ど見られないと感じた。
エモーショナルと感じたのは、Vo.の表現力が増したことが大きい。
インストパートはプログレッシブな要素を残しつつも、ストレートな表現が増えたかな。
曲は前作と同レベルの良い曲が揃っており、前作を気に入った方は間違いなく、
お気に召すでしょう！
解散の危機もあったようだが、来日と次のアルバム待ってます！解散しないでね！
