超有名な女優さんが平凡な人生を歩んできたところにひょんと現れて、身近におしゃべりをして、そして愛を語る存在となったら・・・考えるだけで夢の夢の、またその夢のようなことなのです。
それもこの作品は、ちょっとした一瞬の出来事がトリガーとなって、あっという間に恋が始まるという、そのいきなりの急展開に驚きます。
あの人を遠くで夢のごとく憧れていたものが、今ここに引き寄せられて存在することが、どんなに情緒的で甘美なことであることか。
そういったロマンチックなラブ・ストーリーが展開し、名実ともに優雅で魅惑的な美女、あのジュリア・ロバーツが演じることで、クライマックスに素敵なシーンが次から次へと眼前に広がっていきます。
ほんのひと時でも”夢”を味わえれば、ずいぶんとハッピィーな気分、あたたかいきもちでいっぱいになり満喫します。

ヒューグラントフアンならきっと大好きなビデオの一つだと思います。
ノッティングヒルの雰囲気もよくでてるし、友達とのホームパーティのシーンもイギリスっぽくてすてきです。ヒュウーグラントの同居人の俳優さんも憎めないキャラクターで隣人に居て欲しい感じ。癒されたいときにいつも見てます。とにかくわたしは、このＤＶＤが大好き!!

良いところ
・キャラクターの設定が細かい → 登場人物が主役から脇役まで全部魅力的である
・音楽の有効な使い方 → 場面と音楽がしっかりかみ合っているからどのシーンも印象に残る
・単なる主役二人のラブストーリーで終わらない → 主役と周りの人々とのつながりが作品の持ち味である

悪いところ
・現実はこんなにいい人々ばかりではない．→リアルな心理描写や，愛憎劇を求める人には不向き

長所と短所は上記のとおりですが，私は大好きな映画です．主役以外の役のレベルを下げて，
主役を引き立たすという映画は多数見られますが，脇役に力を入れてそれとからむ主役をそれ
以上に魅力的に見せるという点がすばらしい!!監督（演出）の力って重要なんだと改めて思わ
された作品でした．
