コンパクトなボディに、有効画素数12.1メガの高画質。
起動・タイムラグも速い高速レスポンス。
顔認識、手ぶれ補正、光学３倍ズーム・・・などなど。

S510と似ていますが・・・
画素数、液晶モニターの大きさ、ISO感度、シャッタースピード　など、差別化されています。

デザインもシンプルで格好よく、アーバンブラックは渋く高級感があります。

全体的な操作は、さほど難しさもなく直感的に使えます。
基本的な設定も問題なく簡単です。
ただ、目的を持った設定に関しては・・・モードで選びメニュー項目で詳細な設定をするのですが、今ひとつわかりずらいかなとも感じました。
なれたら問題は感じないと思います。

マルチセレクターの上下左右に、撮影でよく使う項目（フラッシュ・露出補正・セルフタイマー・マクロ設定）が割り当てられています。
撮影してる際に簡単に呼び出せ設定できるので、メニュー画面から遠回りに入らなくていいので便利です。

あと液晶ですが、保護フィルムのせいかもしれませんが装着すると今イチです。
液晶を見ながら撮影しても、本当に綺麗に撮れるのか？撮れてるのか？
ハッキリとした判断が難しいです。（現像すると、綺麗には撮れています）

ロータリーマルチセレクターが軽くクルクル回りうっとおしいので、もう少し重くてもいいかもしれません。
バッテリーは使い方一つですが、旅行で多くの観光地を回るなら予備は必要かと思います。

全体的に扱い易く不満の少ないデジタルカメラです。

スリム、スタイリッシュで携帯するのに優れ、画像は（もちろんフォトショップなどで撮影後の加工はいくらでもできるが）オリジナルはニュートラルで落ち着いたトーン。動画の質も申し分ない。また、高感度撮影のノイズ感が低く、ISO3200でのフラッシュが使えない、コンパクトカメラでの暗い場所での撮影は、とくにその特徴を発揮すると感じられる。これらが、ポジティブな面。一方、モニターがスペックは高画素なのだが、感覚的にやや不鮮明で、撮影した画像とモニター上の画像にギャップがある感じをうける。微妙にフォーカスの位置を調整したいときに、ややもどかしさを感じる。撮影後のモニターでの確認は、予備的なものだとして扱ったほうがいいだろう。ファンインダーがないコンパクトであるからこそ、モニターをもう少し丁寧に仕上げてほしかった。
スタイルと軽量スリム、暗所に強く、スピード撮影といった魅力があるため、トータルでは４つ星。

さすがニコンのデジカメ、といった印象。
画像の仕上がりに派手さはないが、画素数を活かした輪郭くっきりのカリっとした仕上がり。好感が持てます。

でも、せっかくついてるクルクル回す機構を活かしきれていないのはちょっと残念です。でもやっぱりニコンが好きです。
