4.0 out of 5 stars ハチプロ世代の方々に、特にオススメしたいです, 2008/3/30
このSONICCELL、私の様なSC-88Pro（以下、ハチプロ）世代の人間にとっては、とても良い物だと思います。

FantomX相当の音色が入っており、音楽に必要な基本の音が全て揃います。
その音色の加工も、この機材だけで簡単に行えます。
オーディオインターフェイス機能も備えているので、ソフトウェア音源を使用する際に気になるレイテンシ（発音の遅れ）もこれ一台で対応できます。
もちろんギター等の楽器の録音も行えます。
ついでに、PCでの音楽製作に必須なシーケンサーソフトも添付されています。

何が言いたいかというと、PC一台とSONICCELL一台があれば、上質な音楽を作成する環境が揃うという事なんです。

私の世代では、ハチプロやMUシリーズといったハードウェア音源が主流でした。
ソフトウェア音源を使用できるほどのPCパワーが無かった時代です。
現在はPCの性能が上がった事もあり、ソフトウェア音源が主流となり、ハード音源が影に隠れています。
確かに、ソフトウェア音源は便利です。
が、私の様に、一時期コンピュータミュージックから離れていた古い世代が、DTMをもう一度始めたい！と思って机に座った時に、
その便利な筈のソフトウェア音源の壁に当たり、戸惑ってしまいます。
ソフト音源特有の『レイテンシ』の問題や、『様々なメーカーから多種多様な品が溢れていて、何をすれば良いかわからない』等の問題です。

「ハチプロ時代が懐かしい。今のDTMは雑多すぎて分からない…。俺は浦島太郎か」
…とお嘆きの御仁、ご安心を。
SONICCELLを一台、購入して下さい。
貴方の抱える問題は、一気に解決します。
若しくは、悩む方向が『機材の勉強』や『基本設定』から、『どんな音楽を作ろう』『どのコード進行にしようか』といったものに変わる筈ですから。

星が４つなのは、私の様な家庭持ちハチプロ出戻りオジサンでも、躊躇無く買える様な値段にして欲しい、という私の切なる想いです…（笑）

オーディオインターフェース機能がついているのですが、これが思ったより高性能で、インプットエフェクトも良い感じ。MFX3を繋げられるのでかなり色々出来ました。また、単純にオーディオを聴くと、オーケストラとかだとよく分かりますが、かなり良い音で鳴ります。ASIOもWDMも対応してたので、入出力が少ないことを除けば十分な機能でした。

音源部分に関しては、とにかく音が良いですね。抜群に目立って埋もれない。ただ、それの副作用と言うか、結構混ざらない（苦笑）主役には非常に良いんですが、完全な脇役にするにはプリセットのままだと自己主張がやや強い音色群でした。SRXボードが二つ挿せるんですが、既存のものだけでなく、個人的にSC-8850ボードやSD90ボード・・・ボードの容量を考えるとSC8850+SD90も出来そうな気がしますが、そんなボードが新しく出て欲しいですね。

自分はDTMのメインの音源モジュールとして導入しました。
簡単に持ち運び出来る音源モジュールを探していたところにこのSonicCellと出会い購入。

使ってみてオーディオインターフェースの機能が予想以上に使える。
USBメモリを挿してmp3再生も可能なので、エレキギターをSonicCellのエフェクターに通して曲を再生しながらギターの練習。みたいな事も出来ます。エフェクト数も豊富。

DTM用途としては、PCと繋いで同期させるときに若干読み込みに時間がかかるのが少し痛い。
音色面に関しては問題なし。すぐにでも使えそうなプリセットが揃っています。
エレピ・ストリングス系の音の作りが特に良いと感じました。

あとSonicCell自体は非常に軽いです、持ち運びもラクラク。
色々な機能を持ってるが故に色々な事を試したくなるハードですね。
