何とも楽しくて愉快な映画でした。

ニューヨークの動物園で何不自由なく暮らすライオン、シマウマ、カバ、キリンの仲良し４人組が、ひょんなことからマダガスカルの野生王国に行ってしまう物語。

動物たちはかなりデフォルメされていて、動物らしい優雅さとは無縁ですが、こういうのも面白いものだなぁと思いました。

ストーリーは特別深いものではありませんが、野性の中で本性が目覚めていくライオンのアレックスが友情と食欲の間で悩む様子が、可笑しくもあり切なくもありました。

それぞれの動物の性格設定が、一見よくあるイメージとは異なるのも面白いです。（特にペンギン隊が好きでした）

ただ日本語吹き替え版の声を担当しているのが有名なタレントさんばかりなので、どうしても本人を思い浮かべてしまうのが難点でした。


作品のあらゆる場面で音楽が効果的に使われていて、特にエンディングで流れるノリノリの歌『I Like To Move It』がかなりいい感じです。

明るいキャラたち、カラフルな画面、楽しい音楽が合わさって、見ればきっと誰もが愉快で楽しい気分になれる映画だと思います。
