4.0 out of 5 stars タイトル曲はいまひとつだが, 2008/3/30
「バビロニア恋物語」はやや異色。アラビア風のメロディ、手拍子とともに腰をくねらせ踊りだしそう。あえて、うさんくさくチープな自己演出をしたサウンド、昭和歌謡風味の古くさいムードを持つ点は犬神サーカス団らしいが、70年代・60年代、更にはもっと古い雰囲気を持つ普段の彼らの楽曲と比べると、この曲はやや時代が新しく、80年代テイストがある。ただ、サビのメロディがいまいちさえない、いつもの彼らの楽曲ほどガツンとこない。
「ディストピア」は哀愁と怨念に満ちた、実に犬神サーカス団らしいハードロックナンバー。この曲の方がA面っぽく感じる。「どうして」と呟きしゃがみこむ…とか、薄汚れたこの街に屈辱の呪いを捧げる…とか、こういう歌詞を歌わせたら天下一品！凶子さんの歌声に似合いすぎです！胸をしめつけられます。
「少女地獄」は犬神サーカス団の94年作「御霊前」収録の組曲「黒卵之腐」の一部分（6:00〜9:25）を抜き出し再録したもの。まさかこんな嬉しいことをやってくれるとは！今夜も母が私の首をしめにやってくる…父と娘の禁断の関係、かなりヤバイ詩世界。語りと、虚無感に満ちた歌声が行き交う。ただ、本来ならこのパートの次に、「己の髪を引き抜いて…」と歌い始め、まさに暗黒ドロドロな子守唄・民謡といった感じの展開が続くのだが、そこへ行く直前のところで曲が終わってしまうのがとても残念。個人的にはその部分が「黒卵之腐」で一番好きだったのに。
