インパクトがない、キャッチーな曲がない…など聞きますが、アンダーワールドはそもそもプログレッシブハウスムーブメント、クラフトワークの洗礼を受けたグループです。つまり、巷の意見は論外なわけです。

そんな意見がでるのは彼らの偶発的なヒットでただ盛り上がりたい層までファンが広がっただけだからです。


そして今作ですが[jal to tokyo]、[pizza egg] 等のEPからの流れを汲んでサイケデリック、 瞑想的な空気をはらんでいます。

自分たちはこんなのも作れるんだぜ。とアピールしてるみたいにも聞こえます。

５年ぶりの新作…といっても『Boy,Boy,Boy』での生ドラム使用以外、特に新しいことをやっているわけではありません。
ただ、アルバム冒頭から、圧倒的な美しさで聴く者をアンダーワールド世界へと誘ってくれます。
雪の結晶に包まれて浮遊していくような独特の耽美な音世界は、他にはない圧倒的な気持ち良さ。
澄み切った冬の空気によく似合う…これからの季節にぴったりなアルバムです。

やられました。
５年ぶりの新作なので、どんな風に仕上がっているんだろうと期待と不安が入り混じった中で聴いた今作。完全に良い意味で期待を裏切られました！
アルバム全体に重厚かつ繊細なアンダーワールドの世界観が深く染み込んだ超大作です。

かつてのようなアッパーなダンス･チューンは無いものの、アーティストとしてより深みをまし、圧倒的存在感を放つ今作は、間違いなく今年のベスト盤。
既に５０回以上は通して聴きましたが、聴く度に良くなっていく気がします。

買おうか悩んでいる方は、今すぐ購入をお勧めします！
こんな作品に出会えてよかった！！LIVEも楽しみです。
