【スター・トレック】シリーズの映画で、これだけは人によって好き嫌いがはっきりと分かれてます テーマが、スター・トレック本来の勧善懲悪や、英雄の《ヒューマニズム的視点から考えた、堂々とする反則》とは、少し方向性が違うからです。 要するに、幸せを配って歩いてるはずなのに、探し求めちゃってるんです。 それにストーリーの中に、スター・トレックの世界の中だけで完結してくれればいいようなものなのに、観て終わってから、自分の日々の生活の中からも答えを探してしまう、そんな問いかけもあります。 宇宙大作戦という題で、テレビ放送していた頃から、スター・トレックが好きで、行けるものならスター・トレックの世界に行って暮らしたい! そこまで好きな人にしか、おすすめしません。

ジョージ・ルーカス製作の「スター・ウォーズ」の影響がかなり感じられました。ストーリーではなく、舞台とか美術ですね。宇宙モノでは、スター・ウォーズの影響は計り知れないほど大きいですね。それはそれとして、エンタープライズ号は、老朽艦として描かれていますし、乗組員も随分年齢が高くなってきました。そういったことが今回の物語の背景にあるのかな、と思いました。神を信じて、人々の心の闇を照らし、罪人を救う奇跡の預言者に導かれて辿り着いた場所は・・・、という内省的な物語です。そこに、エンタープライズ号で苦楽を共にしてきた男達の友情の深さが交わります。アメリカ的な素朴な男の友情物語。西部劇が宇宙に置き換わったような印象も受けました。悪くないです。
