リアルなコースが売りのPGRシリーズ最新作だ。実際のところ、
実車と見まがうようなコースをハイスピードで走るのはライト
ユーザーでも楽しめる。そのコースは、PGR3に比べて、中国の
「マカオ」と「上海」、カナダの「ケベック」、ロシアの
「サンクト ペテルブルグ」が追加され、9つの都市と1つのテスト
コースとなった。前回と同じコースも、光の再現性が向上していて
緻密になってます。また、車種としてバイクが追加されているのも
目新しい。

得意のウェブ連携も、リプレイのダウンロードという形で提供される
ように改善されている。世界中のプレーヤーのリプレイデータを
ダウンロードして楽しめる。リプレイデータは単にスピードを競う
だけでなく、アクロバットな走りや、バイクのダンシングなどもあり、
暇つぶし的には楽しめる。また、自分のプレイ中に撮影した
スクリーンショットなども、このウェブ経由で自分のパソコンに
取り込むことができる。いい写真が撮れたらブログなどに掲載する
のも簡単だ。

グランツーリズモなどに比べると海外作品だけあって、国産車が
少ないのが残念だが、「Xbox 360 ワイヤレス レーシング ホイール」
にも対応しており、家庭用の 37型ハイビジョン・テレビなどにつなげば、
その臨場感は圧倒的だ。Xbox360を持っていて、車が好きなら、
ぜひ遊んでほしい。

実際にプレイした印象では、「リッジレーサー6」のゲーム感よりは
シミュレータより、グランツーリズモや、「Forza Motorsport 2」の
車の挙動に比べると大味な感じ。どんなゲームよりPGR4が優れている
のはそのコースの美しさだ。まったり美しいコースを楽しもう。

まず都市のモデリングに圧倒されます。凄いです！

あと車の挙動はマイルド目ですが、それなりのテクニックがいるので、走りこなせた時の達成感があり、これもGOOD!!
そしてガレージに足を踏み入れたとき、感嘆の悲鳴をあなたはあげるでしょう。
そして落ち着きを取り戻したのなら探してみてください。レトロなアーケードゲーム台が一台置かれているはずです。これが他のゲームに類を見ない最高ゴージャスなおまけであることは、だれもが否定できないでしょう。我々は開発元のBizarreに感謝するしか選択肢がなくなるのです。
一通り見て回ったら、あとは好きな車で世界中の都市を走り回りましょう。
最高にクールで、エキサイティングな瞬間がやってくるのです。
