カナダのケルト系ヴォーカリスト、ロリーナ・マッケニットのライブ作。2007作
タイトル通りアルハンブラ宮殿をステージにしたライブを収録。CD2枚組+DVD
現時点での最新アルバム「An Ancient Muse」も素晴らしい出来であったが、
ここではデビューから22年を経てもなお充実した活動を続ける彼女のライブの様子が楽しめる。
厳かな空気に包まれて演奏が始まると、ヴァイオリン、チェロ、パーカッションなどをバックに、
静かでありながらも確かな表現力に富んだ、彼女の美しい歌声が響き出す。
楽曲は2ndを除く各アルバムからそれぞれ3曲前後と、これまでのベスト選曲的にもなっており、
初めて彼女の歌声に触れる方でも充分楽しめる。貫祿すら漂う絶品のヴォーカルはもちろん、
自身の奏でるハープ、アコーディオン、ピアノの音色も美しい。まさに夢のようなアルハンブラの一夜。
DVDの方では、映像付きでこのライブの模様が楽しめ、アルハンブラ宮殿の幻想的な雰囲気と、
それにも増して崇高な空気をまとって歌い、演奏するロリーナの姿がとても印象深く心に響く。

力強く伸びのある声の美しさ
ステージ姿の美しさ
その存在感
そして
どれもが美しい楽曲
中でも"The Old Ways"の展開は素晴らしい

身体を突き抜けて広がって行く
スペイン・アルハンブラ宮殿での美しいコンサート

ちなみにCDケースとDVDトールケースの2種類があります。内容は同じ。
