ブルーオイスターカルト、日本語訳･青い牡蠣崇拝、私がこのグループの初めて聞いたアルバムがこの「スペクターズ」だった。それ以来このグループの信者となってしまった。すべての曲が捨て曲なしである。とくにＢ面（レコード時代では６曲目から）からが良い。このグループの曲調は同時代に活躍した、キッスやエアロスミスの「陽」とかなり違い、アメリカのロックグループでは珍しくどちらかといえば「陰」であるが、決して雰囲気だけではなく、聞くものを引きずり込むほどの凄みがあるのが良い。ラスト２曲の「アイラブザナイト」、「ノスフェラツ」だけでもこのアルバムを買う価値はある。詩もすばらしい。
最近の軽薄なロックでは物足りない中高年のロックファンにぜひ聞いてもらいたい。

１９７７年リリースの名盤・・・なんで日本できちんとリリースされないのか不思議です、売れないのでしょう（笑）！！なんと言っても１曲目「ゴジラ」・・・「ガッジラ」と言う発音が御愛嬌ながら、かっこいい曲！！エリックブルームのたどたどしい「臨時ニュースを申し上げます」が最高！！リフがフックがあって、くどいですがかっこいいですよ。バンド名の怪しさとは裏腹にメチャクチャ音楽性が広いバンドで、インテリジェンス溢れるロックを聴かせてくれます。メンバーは、エリックブルーム（Ｇ・Ｖｏ）・ジョーブーチャード（Ｂ）・ドナルドローザー（Ｇ）・アルバートブーチャード（Ｄｒ）アランレイニア（Ｋｅｙ）、そして６人目のメンバー・プロデューサー／サンディパールマン・・・日本では情報は少ないバンドなのですが、知らないと損するバンドですよ！！ギターのドナルドローザーのギターは、本当味があって巧い！！５曲目「ファイアーワークス」なんて本当せつないポップナンバーで、全然イメージと違います（笑）。個人的には昔エアチェックした（死語！！）３曲目バラード調「デスヴァレーナイツ」が、最高にバンドの色気を感じて大好きです！！ハードロックファンであれば名曲「ゴジラ」は押さえておくべき！！！！

ほとんどなかったBOCの名盤。タロットよりいいアルバムだと思うけど。2、なんてほんとかっこいい。明るいポップ調かと思いきや、いきなりマイナー調の疾走哀愁ナンバーになっちゃう。4も渋くて渋くて。元祖ヘヴィメタルと言われるのには違和感を感じるが、かっこいいアルバム。今買っておけ!損はしません。
