アイランド・レコードからのイギリス制作の三部作の後、アイランドを離れたジョン・ケイルが久々にニューヨークに戻り発表したライヴ・アルバム。1979年6月CGBG’sで行なわれたコンサートを収録した本作はライヴでありながら一曲のカヴァー(ルーファス・トーマスの「ウォーキン・ザ・ドッグ」)を除きすべて新曲でかためられた意欲作で、ヴェルヴェット・アンダーグラウンドを髣髴とさせるフィードバックを多用したノイジーなサウンドはジョン・ケイルのアルバムの中で最もエキセントリックでアグレッシュヴな一枚。ボーナス・トラックとしてEP『アニマル・ジャスティス』収録曲と本作からのシングルのカップリング曲を収録。
