　天才ピアノ弾きの、幻の、伝説の等と書かれると興味が湧いてしまうのは避けられませんが、大概は期待はずれになるのが世の常で、宣伝文句には惑わされないようにしなくてはいけません。
　でもこの方は凄いなというのが一聴して感覚的に判りました。クラシックもあまり聴かないし、ショパンの曲なんて１〜２曲しか題名を言えないような僕にしても、彼女のピアノには畏敬の念を覚えてしまった。良い買い物をしました。もう少し彼女のＣＤを数枚聴いてみます。
　1965年4月のEMI（Abbey Road Studio）第１スタジオでの録音ということは、この数ヵ月後に隣の第２スタジオでThe BeatlesのRubber Soulが作成されているのですね。時代の空気を感じさせて貰いました。凄い時代だったよなぁ。

1965年4月23・24・27日、ロンドン、アビー・ロード第一スタジオにて録音。1941年6月5日生まれのアルゲリッチは1955年にはヨーロッパに渡り、ウィーンでフリードリッヒ・グルダの師事を受けている。その後1961年にはモンカリエリでベネゲッティ・ミケランジェリにも師事。1957年、ブゾーニ国際コンクール入賞、同年ジュネーブ国際コンクールで第1位、そして1965年のショパン・コンクールで第1位とまさに才能の開花した時期と言えるだろう。

その後、グラモフォンでもショパンのピアノ・ソナタ第3番の録音はある。しかしながらここでの演奏はそれ以降のあらゆる演奏を超えた『無心』さを感じずにはいられない。ショパンの音楽と対話するかのように『無心』に弾くアルゲリッチには一切の『邪心』が無く、心の奥底を揺さぶる。特にここでの『マズルカ作品59No.1-3』・『ノクターン作品15 No.1』・『スケルツォ作品39』そして『英雄ポロネーズ作品53』は以前以後の誰一人として超えられないレベルに到達して高貴極まりない。

ディヌ・リパッティの『ワルツ』、マウリツィオ・ポリーニの『エチュード』、そしてここでの『マズルカ作品59No.1-3』・『ノクターン作品15 No.1』・『スケルツォ作品39』そして『英雄ポロネーズ作品53』こそ極上の聴くべきショパンだ。

荒削りですが、今のアルゲリッチの演奏を彷彿とさせる演奏です。何よりもエネルギッシュで、情熱的！少々テンポが速すぎても、ミスタッチがあっても関係なし！こういう魂を込めた演奏は、聴いていて気持ちが良いものです。
