シカゴの結成35年を記念したベスト盤。初期からのシカゴ・サウンドを俯瞰するのに好適なアルバム。スターのいないビッグ・バンドと言われるシカゴの本領が堪能できる。

長閑な歌詞とサウンドの中に深い意味を持たせて、シカゴを一躍スターダムに押し上げた「Saturday In The Park」。印象的なギター・ソロから始まる、何と言ってもカッコイイ代表作「25 Or 6 To 4」。「Twenty Five Or Six To Four〜」のサビは忘れられない。初期の曲はブラスがメインなのだが、本作はギターのT.キャスの活躍が目立つ。初期の曲では「Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is ?」を入れて欲しかった。初期には、こうしたノンビリとした曲調の中に深い思索を込めた曲が多かった。スターになってからの「Take Me Back To Chicago」も味わい深い。中期のラブ・ソング路線の「If You Leave Me Now」、「Hard To Say I'm Sorry」、「Little One」もちゃんと入っている。日本ではこの辺の美しいハーモニーを持つ曲で一般的人気を得たのではないか。

シカゴの軌跡を辿るには格好の入門的アルバム。
