音質向上で一番良かった点はドラムスのキックですかね。特にアルバム「RINGO」、あるいはその頃のシングルから収録されている曲のドラムスは、「ABBEY ROAD」の音と良く似ているのですが、その点さらに聴き易くなってます。
実はちょっと警戒して、DVD無し、お手頃価格のこちらを購入したのですが、この内容なら多少高くてもDVD付の方を買った方が良かった〜。
ベスト盤の重要な要素である「楽曲の繋がり」も大変良く、曲間の空白を最大限詰めているのも成功してます。特に2曲目「IT DON'T COME EASY」と3曲目「YOU'RE SIXREEN」が間髪入れず繰り出された瞬間は「おおっ！」と盛り上がりましたね。
唯一残念なのは「SIX O'CLOCK」が収録されていない事ですが、それは個人的な好みの問題ですので。多くの人の賛同を得られる選曲には違いないです。
蛇足ですが、70年代前半の楽曲については、ジョージ・ハリスンの気合の入ったサウンドサポート、およびジョン・レノンの解放的で伸び伸びとした立ち位置がとても対照的で、それぞれ泣けます。
どの曲も久しぶりに聴きましたが、良かったですよ。

リンゴ・スター３枚目のベスト盤にしてオールタイムのベスト盤である。ビートルズ解散後キャピトルからレコードをリリースしていたリンゴだがアナログ時代のベスト盤「想い出を映して」以降キャピトルを離れたリンゴ。その後アトランティック、マーキュリー、ボードウォーク、プライヴェート・ミュージック、Kochなど色んなレーベルを渡り歩いていただけに音源が彼方此方に散乱？し心配していたが、今回のベスト盤はレーベルを越えたオールタイムなベスト盤となった事に先ずは意義がある。８０年代前半以降は大きなヒット曲もアルバムもないリンゴだが、紛れもなくリンゴはビートルズの一員であり他の３人と同様、彼の音源も貴重なものである事に変わりはない。これが集約された意義は大きい。キャピトル時代の７曲のトップ１０ヒット「明日への願い」「フォトグラフ」「オー・マイ・マイ」「スヌーカルー」「バック・オフ・ブーガルー」「オンリー・ユー（・アンド・ユー・アローン）」「ノー・ノー・ソング」は当然の収録だが、落ち込みが酷かった８０年代からは「ラック・マイ・ブレイン」の１曲のみ。（良い曲やアルバムもあるのだが・・・）９０年代〜現在まではコンスタントに良いアルバムをリリースしており非常にベストな選曲になっていると思う。更にコレクターズエディションには未発表の映像とビデオ･クリップ７曲が入ったＤＶＤもセットされる。コアなＦＡＢ４のファンなら当然こちらが狙い目であろう。　余談だが新たな心配はポールが今回の新作「メモリー・オールモスト・フル」でＥＭＩ/キャピトルを離れた事である。スターバックスは好きなのだが・・・＾＾；

音質がどうなるかファンとしては気になるところです。
大体の曲は「リンゴ」「グッドナイトウィーン」の現行盤の収録曲なので
音質の向上が見られるのなら買いなのだけど。

これを機に不遇な時代のアルバムの再発をお願いしたい。
一部の作品はプレミアが付いてしまってリンゴファン新参者の私には到底手が出せない。
