5.0 out of 5 stars ドッグが“正統派ロックンロールバンド”だと再認識できるデビューアルバム, 2007/11/12
（CD (1990/9/15)版で投稿した内容の転載です）

2箇所のスタジオでレコーディングされたものらしいですが、
ドラムのチューニングに1日かかったり足が腫れたり、ギターで血豆が出来たりと、
初のレコーディングでは技量を痛感させられたそうな。
そんな状況でバック全てをスタジオミュージシャンにされそうになるものの、
全員が曲を作るし演奏するのでその将来性のため、
一部の曲でスタジオミュージシャンが参加する程度に留まったようです。

ロックンロール色溢れるその内容は、
1曲目を飾るのはブギー風の「ウェルカム・トゥ・ザ・ロックンロール・ショウ」、
現在のライヴでもラストナンバーとして演奏される「4. ラスト・ナイト・ラスト・タイム」、
“業界が絶賛した”らしいデビューシングル「5. 嵐の金曜日」
（LPレコード時代はここでA面終了って印象ですねｗ）
後半はストーンズ風の曲やビート感溢れる曲、ルーズな曲と、
全体を通してもバラエティ豊かです。

メンバーチェンジ後のアルバム「SPIRITS!」以降のイメージしか持っていない方からすると、
何を持って“ロックンロールバンド”と称されているか解かりづらいかもしれませんが、
このデビュー作から2枚目の「STAND PLAY」、3枚目の「POWER UP!」までは、
まさにロックンロールという言葉がピッタリのサウンドだと思います。

ソニー時代のアルバムが、再発売されるんですねぇ。最近の、ハウンド・ドッグしか知らない人が、このアルバムを聞くと、今と違うので、ショックを受けるかも!?自分がそうでした(^-^; しかし、デビューシングルの「嵐の金曜日」は、良いですよ。今の歌い方より、昔の歌い方が、個人的に好きです。

HOUND DOG の　デビュー作です。　荒削りで決して演奏的に上手くはないけど　熱ーいものを感じるアルバム。
ソニーオーディションの時に審査員に「踊れ！」と言った大友康平さん。ジャケットみても　ん〜若いですね。
自分的には　この「WELCOME〜」２ndの「STAND PLAY」３作目の「パワーアップ」まででした。やはり売上上げるためには方向転換やむなしですかね。　今だったら結構このまま突っ走れたかな・・・なんて思いますが　はたしてどうかな。内容はまさに　Ｒ＆Ｒですね。「Ｒ＆Ｒやらせたら天下一品!」と豪語していた大友さんのシャウトがひかります。バラードの名曲「嵐の金曜日」　Ｒ＆Ｒの殿堂入りナンバー（僕が勝手に言ってますが）「だから大好きロックンロール」収録。なかなか手に入らない貴重盤です。見かけたら即買いですよ。
