この度のアルバム、そうそうたる
方々が作品に携わり、
（亡き阿久先生・あいさとうさんそして、一風堂、土屋さん等など）
それぞれ個々に渚ようこさんの魅力を引き出そうと
アレンジも異なり、別物のオンパレード。
歌謡曲だけではなく、土屋さんの曲はシャンソンぽくある

次から次と、 これはどうなのか？と各楽曲に
耳を凝らして聞いてみると

ようこさんが今までされていた
ギリギリ感の歌唱とは異なり
しっとりと流れるように唄い
受け止める聴き手に
任せるような雰囲気を感じた。


このアルバムで特に気に入った曲は
阿久先生の、どうせ天国へ行ったってという曲です。
私みたいな者にシックリと染み入りました。
詞の中に悪をしても義理、人情を重んじる生き方を
表現していられるところに意義があるみたいなところ
・・・非常に共感。特に身に染み入りました。

渚さんには、これからも新たな挑戦をしていっていただきたい。

「昭和歌謡」というジャンルが定着してきてさまざまな「昭和歌謡ミュージシャン」が第一線で活躍しています。 もう「昭和」は昔。そういうことで良いんじゃないかな。 と、いうくらい平成の時代に生まれた名曲があります。
例えば僕の中で渚さんと言えば「ニュー・トーキョー」が一番に浮かんでくる大好きな曲なんですが！

今回のアルバムからも素晴らしい楽曲が！そんな中からお気に入りは「KABUKU」！

ああ　わたしは当分　都会のスターで
ピカピカに　ギラギラに燃えて　生きましょう　生きましょう

渚さんのもの悲しくも力強い歌声が非常にリアル、
横山剣さんの派手さに乗ったカーステレオナンバーとはまた違った名曲が満載です （「どうせ天国へ行ったって」と併せて、この曲は奇しくも阿久悠さんの遺作になりました）。

とにかく現在は情報が多い。過去の作品も記録され、繰り返される。 そんな情報の洪水の中で、良いものは探さないといけなくなってしまいました。

カッコイイ世界は探せばきっとある。それこそ渚ようこだ！そう思いませんでしょうかね？

意外な感じがするが，渚ようことしては初のフルオリジナルアルバム。

プロデュースはLe3(レ・トレ）の松本俊行で，センスの良いバランスの取れたサウンドで，渚ようこの新しい魅力を引き出している。ジャズ，ボサノバ，シャンソン，フレンチポップ，ソウル，ブーガルーなど，ジャンルも幅広く一曲一曲が独立して楽しめてお洒落な短編小説を読んだ気にさせてくれる。
作家陣もLe3(レ・トレ）を始め，阿久悠，宇崎竜童，来生たかお，土屋正巳，半田健人，横山剣など超豪華で，渚ようこの魅力を遺憾なく引き出している。

このアルバムの特徴は，全体はフランス映画のようなお洒落な雰囲気だが（ジャケットも含めて），中盤の阿久悠作詞の３曲は「平成の怨歌」という趣で，昭和４０年代の藤圭子の感覚を醸し出している。また，ラストの2曲はお得意のビートの弾けた昭和歌謡曲でスカッとさせてくれる構成となっている。

渚ようこという類まれな素材に対して，的確なアプローチを施したプロデュースの勝利のアルバム。
