「光と影のトッカータ」は切なげに疾走するハードロックナンバー。冒頭でサビのメロディーをアコギが寂しげに奏で、それをハードなギターがなぞって爆発するというベタな展開の前奏部分が良い。どこかB級で、ひたすら幸薄い、マイナスが更にマイナスを生んでどこまでも拡大していくような詩は最近の犬神サーカス団らしい。
「腐乱のあなた」は、古くは「青蛾の群」（個人的に、犬神サーカス団の中で特に好きな曲）などを彷彿とさせるサウンドの、寂しげなバラード。ノスタルジックで儚げなメロディーで猟奇的・倒錯的な詩世界を美しく歌いあげる。異臭を放ち、虫が群がり、腐乱していく貴方の屍に寄り添い、腕の中で涙し、悲しい愛の言葉を囁く。
「鬼畜」は「蛇神姫」収録曲の再録。2番の「ダマされるのはアタシじゃない」のところが台詞口調に変わっていたり、最後のギターソロが長くなり熱狂的になっていたりするくらいで、楽曲自体に大きな変化はなく、昔の曲をそのまま素直に今の演奏力でやり直したという印象。演奏のキレや歌唱力は格段にアップしてます。歌声は安定感が増したぶん、ヒステリックさが少し減ったか。
