子どもの体が大きくなったので、
チャイルドシートから、こちらにステップアップしました。

チャイルドシート購入時に、あれこれと迷ったおかげで、
選び方のポイントが自分なりにつかめていたこともあり
あらかじめ決めておいた候補をいくつか見比べて即これに決定。

子供用シートに何を求めるかは人それぞれかと思いますが、
・安全性への配慮
・取り付け・調整・保管等のしやすさ
・子どもの満足度
などについては十分期待に応えてくれるはずです。

側面衝突に対応していることをアピールしていると思われる、
前方に大きく張り出したヘッドレストは、見た目にも安心感があります。
「子どもの視界が妨げられる」ことを心配される方もいるようですが、
わが子の場合は、ＳＦのメカにでも乗り込むような気分で
自分から進んで中に収まっていますので、
それほど気にすることもないかと思います。
それよりむしろ
しっかりと起きあがった姿勢で乗ることになるため
移動中に子どもが眠ってしまった場合どうなるかが気がかりなところです。

・サイズ調整は目盛りの数字を身長に合わせるだけのワンタッチ
・シートベルトは本体にクリップで固定
・使わないときは折りたたんで保管など
細かな気配りも行き届いています。

チャイルドシートはどれも高価なため
オールインワン志向が主流のようですが、
安全装置としてみるなら、一つの目的に特化した高性能を求めた方が
結果的には後悔しなくてすむのではないでしょうか

　国内外にチャイルドシートのメーカーはたくさんありますが、本当に信頼のおける製品を探すのは、今はまだあまり簡単ではないと考えています。
　ヨーロッパの安全基準はまだしも、日本の安全基準は「設定過渡期」とでも言うべき甘い基準で、メーカーを守りたいのか搭乗する幼児・児童を守りたいのか理解しかねるところも散見しますし、米国の基準も一概に信用できないようです（詳しくは国土交通省の『安全アセスメント』をご覧下さい）。
　実際に衝突実験を行なうことは、手間も時間も掛かります。その意味で、確実に信用がおける国内メーカーの最右翼として挙げられるのがTAKATAだと私は考えました。TAKATAの当該商品サイトでは、側面衝突実験の画像があり、これも購入の大きな決め手にもなりました。

従兄の第二子の出産祝いに贈りました。
座り心地がいいのか、家の中でもずーっとそのシートに座りたがるそうです。
見た目も可愛いし、シートベルトを作る会社の製品なので安心です。
4歳から12歳まで使えるそうなので、しっかりとしたものを選びたいです。
