アーティストについて

cokiyu(コキユ):愛媛出身、東京在住のアーティスト。音大在学時よりコンピュータを用いた現代音楽を製作。メルツバウに影響を受け、ノイズに傾倒するも、生楽器と電子音の融合した美しいベッドルームポップを作り始める。2005年より彼女の作品を聴いたausが自身のアルバムにボーカルとして起用、そのソフトで美しい歌声は全世界で話題を呼ぶ。国内外のコンピレーションへの楽 曲提供を経て、2007年よりトクマルシューゴ&マジックバンドにトイピアニストで参加。

　愛媛出身の音楽家であり、aus氏の作品やトクマル・シューゴ&ザ・マジック・バンドにも参加しているcokiyu嬢のソロ1st album。
　flauから1枚目のリリース。

　音の雰囲気はelectronica / ambientで、グリッチノイズや音響、ピアノ、シンセ等で構成された緩く静謐なトラックに、彼女の透明感と浮遊感のある美声が添えられていて、タイトルの"mirror flake"という言葉の様にキラキラしています。
　リズムが控えめなのでidmというよりは実験的な趣が強く、ハーモニーの重なり方はとても心地良く作られていて、空間に染み入ってとても落ち着く音楽です。

　元々音大生だった頃から楽曲提供等の音楽的活動をしており、相当のキャリアを持ちつつも前述の通り多方面での活動もしていて、その生き方も本人自身の佇まいも素敵な方です。
　リリース元であるレーベル"flau"は、本人とも交友の深いaus氏とyuri miyauchi氏が運営しており、cokiyu嬢自身はaus氏の作品の中でゲスト・ボーカルを務めていたりもします。

　日本女性electronica界隈の中でも、あっさり爽やかな味付けの音楽好きの方にお勧め。

日本人女流エレクトロニカアーティスト、cokiyuのファーストアルバムです。

女性らしい非常に緻密な音の構成です。
一音一音本当によく考えて作られ、配置されています。
特に高音部のキラメキ感が非常に美しく印象的です。
音楽理論あるいは音響心理学的バックグラウンドによるものでしょうか。

また、エレクトロニカの範疇にありながらボーカルの流麗なメロディが特徴的です。
声質も透き通っていて稀有な美しさを持っています。
テクノ・ポップは世にあまた存在しますが、
こちらはさながらエレクトロニカ・ポップといった趣きです。
新しいエレクトロニカの可能性を感じさせてくれます。
M-3、M-10などはすでにマスターピースと呼べるのではないでしょうか。

全体的な印象としては、とても上品で限りなく優しい音楽です。
軽すぎず甘すぎず、全体を通してほどよい緊張感を保っています。
Juana Molina、world's end girlfriend、Matryoshkaなどの
切迫感のあるエレクトロニカとは異なります。
Dale BerningやGutevolk、Nobukazu Takemura、Gabby&Lopezなどが好きな人にお勧めです。
これらのアーティストと比肩しうる素晴らしい完成度の作品です。

因みに、本アーティストは北欧系アーティスト(EBERG、Robert Svensson)や
ausの作品にもボーカルなどで参加しています。
トクマルシューゴのバンドやspace pitchというバンドでも活動しています。
また、Max/MSPの使い手で、ノイズミュージックを撒き散らす意外な一面も！
本作のジャケは実妹の手によるものだそうで、驚くほど音のイメージをよく表しています。

どの曲も素晴らしいです。アルバム全体を通しても最高です。
cokiyuの優しいボーカル。一切無駄のない音。
このフワフワ感は中毒性すらあるでしょう。
以前私が少し病んでいたときに２日中聴いていました。
それぐらい癒されます。長く聴けます。
朝、夜中にもピッタリな音楽だと思います。
