もう皆さんご存知ですよね！POWER106でのヘヴィー・プレイから火が着いた、ベンEキング”STAND BY ME”ネタの”BEAUTIFUL GIRLS”！今やクラブでもプレイされれば大合唱のそのホット・ナンバーを収録した、1990年生まれ（！）SEAN KINGSTON君のフル・アルバムが遂にドロップ！今POWERでは次にキテル”ME LOVE”も激キャッチーなラガ・ポップ・チューンだった為、アルバム全体そんな感じかと思いきや、めっちゃバンギンなシリアス・チューン群から、人気歌姫PAULA DEANDAと掛け合うキュートなナンバー”THERE’S NOTHING”、また感動的な”CHANGE”等といったメロウ楽曲まで、さすが全米のトップ・プロデューサー、J.R.ことJONATHAN ROTEMフル・プロデュースの幅広い強力作揃い！SEAN君のラガ・テイストなヴォーカル、ラッピンも素晴らしく、こんな若き才能が突如登場するUSシーンにまたも感服！(

Ｒ&Ｂというカテゴリィが我が国に登場したのは1960年代のことだ。その後、モータウン・サウンドと呼ばれたり、また70年代に入るとディスコ・ミュージックとして一般大衆化され、今日HIPHOPやレゲエなどの新たなジャンルを確立しながら進化している。だが、Ｒ&Ｂのルーツは言うまでもなくゴスペルとドゥワップだ。そして彼の「Beautiful Girls」は、まさにそのＲ&Ｂの進化を、絵巻物を見せるが如くに表現しているのである。ゴスペル特有のシンプルで美しいフレーズのリフレイン。名曲「ステンバイメィ」を彷彿とさせる洗練されたサウンド。加えてミュージック・ビデオが最高だ。そこには1950年代後期〜60年代初頭の若々しく希望に満ちた古き良き時代のアメリカが登場する。2007年度Ｒ&Ｂの最高傑作。

NE-YOとかしか基本的に聞いたことがないんですが、このショーンキングストーンも、 素直にいいと思いました。特に2曲めみたいな曲調は、好きです。
俺は、普段、メタルやラウド系しか聞かないんですが、友達にすすめられて聞いたらよかったです。
