アーティストについて

1998年に三浦康嗣(みうらこうし)と南波一海(なんばかずみ)でブレイクビーツ・ユニットとして結成。
2006年11月、坂本龍一をはじめとするアーティストたちが音楽の新たな可能性を模索すべくエイベックス・グループと設立した新プロジェクトcommmonsに移籍。2007年2月、シングル「GOLDEN KING」でメジャーデビュー、続いて5月にシングル「GOLDEN WEEK」、そして8月22日には4枚目のアルバムとなる前人未到のブレイクビーツ・ミュージカル、「GOLDEN LOVE」を発表する。

聴いていて、とにかく楽しいですね。ひさしぶりに心が躍りました。
ヒップホップを取り入れた音楽は数多いのですが、洋楽には、他人の悪口言いまくりの暗いものが多いし、邦楽には、ヒップホップと言えないほど曲がJ−POP化し、歌詞で、洋楽とは正反対に、家族、恋人、友だちへの感謝のことばばかりを並べた生活第一主義的なものが多い。そういう中身が陳腐化したヒップホップの状況のなかで、洋楽の「ザ・ゴー！チーム」のこれまでの二作品とともに、このアルバムも、異彩を放つヒップホップ・アルバムだ、と思います。
素人臭さを残すヴォーカルの声質、いろんな音楽に通暁し、それらをごちゃまぜで表現している秀才ぶりがフリッパーズ・ギターを思い起こさせますが、まずは、この□□□の音楽に耳を澄ませましょう。

随分前から名前の奇抜さで知っていたがラジオ出演の際に流れた曲が気になり
今回のアルバムで初めて聞いた次第。

で、こんなに面白いグループがいたのか！という印象。
間違いなく新しいし、気持ちいいし、未体験という点でこれほどまでに
初めて感を味わったのは久々だし、そう思う人も大勢いるのでは？と思う。
このグループのジャンルを定義するのは困難だし、する必要もない。
まさにこのユニットそのものがジャンルのような、強烈な独自性をもっている。
唯一ついえるのは、この作品が最高にポップなアルバムだと感じる、ということだ。

ポップといえば、すぐ共感を求めるいやらしさや安易な感情移入を狙ったものが多いが
そこからは完全に逸脱していてただただ「気持ちのよい衝動」を楽しめる印象。
かと思えばいとうせいこうとタッグを組んだ「おばけ次元」では
風刺的な歌詞が耳をつんざき、刺激的な一面も感じさせるのが良い。
また基本的にはラップ（といってもコテコテではなく、若干ラフなもの）が中心だが
それ以外にもHALCALIをフィーチャーした綺麗な「COSMIC DANCE」あり、
またストレートでインパクトのあるポッポチューン「真夏のラストチューン」あり、
常に一定のテンポでラップし続ける「INNER LIGHT」あり（またこのラップが小気味良い！）、
バラエティに富んでいるのもありがたいところ。

最新型のポップ・ミュージックとあえて呼んでしまいたくなる一作。
多くの人がこの音楽を愛してくれればそれは事実になっていくだろう。

クチロロって何がしたいの？なんて言葉は彼らに言っても何の意味もない。どんなジャンルもクチロロというフィルターを通して”ポップ”な音楽にしてしまう、というかしようしていくのがクチロロというアーティストなのだろう。本作ではヒップホップに接近して、ブレイクビーツ、カットアップ、マッシュアップを駆使したと思われる作品が並ぶ。しかし全ての楽曲をラップで歌うのではなく、「真夏のラストチューン」のような超ポップな名曲やインストなどバランスよく聴かせる。押し付けがましい感動や感謝を歌うラップではないのに、ひねくれた自分は好感が持てた。何より聴いていて感じるのが、アルバム全体に漂う楽しげな雰囲気。音楽を聴く喜びや楽しさが彼らの作る楽曲には溢れており、是非とも聴いておいてほしい１枚。
