いや。これを待っていた！前作「PLAY WITH ISOLATION」があまりに素晴らしい出来だったので
このアルバムの報が届いた時に早く聴きたくて仕方が無かった。
で、しかもやはり予想以上に鋭く、タフなロックが鳴っていて喜びもひとしお。

まずロックが少しでも好きならばこのlostageの音に触れてみて欲しい。
多少なりとも好みの差はあるはずだが、しかしまだ若手なのにこれだけの個性、
ロックとしての艶、鋭さ、冷気、強度を持ったバンドは稀である。

今作は勢いのある2曲から始まり、これらの曲はすこぶるキャッチーなのだが、
そこから先はうねりを上げるようなlostageのディープな世界が広がっていて
はき捨てるように歌うボーカル、鋭角なギター、どっしりと響くリズム隊と
ぐつぐつ煮詰めたような極上のロックがこれでもかと流れてくる。
また、ミドルの曲が多いと思いきや、途中でアップテンポの曲が入ってきたりと
緩急の付け方が見事でロック・アルバムとしてかなり魅力的なものになっている。

また歌詞の部分は語感重視で、実にすっきりとした歌いまわし、だが良く歌詞を見ると
刺激的な言葉や、現実を風刺するような歌詞が載っていてこれまた良い。
やはりロックは人生応援歌や安易なラブソングに侵食されてはいけないな、
ということをこのlostageから再確認した。
やはり本人の思っていること、思いついたこと、感じたことを出してこそ、だ。

兎にも角にもまずは音源を聴いて、ライブに行ってlostageを感じて欲しい。
一部の人間だけにこの音はとてももったいないし、もっと評価されるべき。
だからこそメジャーなのだろうし、｢こどもたち｣のような普遍的な、だけど尖っている
名曲を書いたのだろう。この曲は是非入り口にしてもらいたい。

何ていうか、"未知な感じ"のアルバム。"未知"じゃなく、"未知な感じ"。しかしこの言葉で誤解しないで欲しいのは、このアルバムは単に、"新しい感じを装った既製音楽の焼き直し"ではないと言うこと。しつこく言うけどそれは違う。lostageの音楽は他の何ものでもない。そういう堂々たる風格と気品があるのです。じゃあなんで全くの未知じゃないのか?、それは聴いて頂ければ解ると思います。どこか懐かしい、そんな感じ。よくナンバーガールがこれまでのバンドとして引き合いに出るようですが、私的には個性的なボーカルとリズムラインがブランキーを思わせるような…(というのは私だけかも知れませんが。)楽曲全体にただよう不思議な緊張感と哀愁帯びた美しさは秀逸。しかしそれだけにアルバムとしての構成の甘さと、たまに感じるボーカルの一本調子さが少し気になってしまい、★は4つにしました。とはいえ、彼らの今後はかなり楽しみです。ひとつリクエストするなら、ぜひインスト曲も聴いてみたい!(本当に一曲一曲が美しいですから!!)"未知"なる才能と可能性、面白いバンドの登場です。
