木村と近藤という顔合わせ、このコンセプトにこの選曲。こりゃ買うでしょう。
渥美清の「泣いてたまるか」から植木さんの「これが男の生きる道」に西岡恭蔵の「プカプカ」その他、なかなかの選曲じゃないの。これをブルース唄わせりゃ泣く子も黙る木村と近藤がどう料理するか、ってな企画で、日頃、中古か輸入盤が中心で、値段の高い日本ものの新作なんて滅多に買わない私でも即買いでした。
だけど聞いたらちょっと肩すかし。大昔の憂歌団の「君といつまでも」みたいな破天荒なのをちょっとだけ期待してたんだけど、割と今風のアレンジでお行儀よくまとまってる感じ。なんか全体に歌い込み不足というか、アイデア不足というか、この２人が昭和の歌謡曲を歌うという企画にだけ頼りすぎというか、とにかくなんか物足りない、かゆいところに手が届かない感じ。うーん、ライブで観たらまた違うんだろけど。

二人の特長が足し算を超えて掛け算になるのが理想であるのはいうまでもありません。

　残念ながら、甘く見ても、そのような効果が出たのは「ぐでんぐでん」1曲だけのように感じました。

　だからといって、これが買う価値のないものかといえばそうではないと思います。

　「女の物書きで頭が良いのは富岡多惠子だけだ。」と言ったのはつかこうへいだったように記憶しています。
　その富岡には単純な懐古趣味に堕した懐メロ批判の一文もありますが、憂歌団の「石狩挽歌」には遠く及ばないものの、このアルバムでも全ての曲に多少なりとも「現在」の視点が反映されています。

　定価で買ってしまうと、今イチという感は否めないでしょうが、ネットオークション等で2千円未満で購入するのは難しくないと思われ、そうすれば、この二人に関心のある人にとっては十分満足のできるお買い物となるでしょう。

期待はずれもえぇとこでした・・・
