液晶TVとHDDレコーダが欲しかったので、店頭で画面を見比べてこの機種にしました。値段も同程度の画質のものより安い上にHDDレコーダ付きとかなりお得な感じがしました。
画面サイズと値段以外では、HDDレコーダ、二画面表示、５チューナー（地デジ×２、BS×１、アナログ×２）、PC接続可能、番組表という辺りを決め手にしました。
自宅ではPS2を二台接続しました。他にVHSビデオデッキを１つ繋いでいます。
ゲームの画面は録画もできますし、二画面にもできますが、外部入力は１つ（左側）だけが可能です。右側画面にはチューナーからの映像を表示します。音声は選択できますから、実情は問題ないでしょう。
PC接続用にはD-sub15PINのコネクタが備わっています。他にD4端子（新PSPならこれ）１つと、HDMI×２（PS3ならこれ）があります。あと、出力端子も色々ありますが、それ意外に増設HDD用端子、LAN接続もできます。
HDDレコーダについてですが、現在見ている番組をパッと録画できるのですが、「ちょっとタイム」という機能を使うと、録画しながら追いかけて録画を見ることができます。
番組表からビデオ予約や視聴予約ができるのは便利です。連ドラ予約をすると、その番組を毎回録画してくれます。
ビデオ録画中は二画面にすることができませんが、ビデオゲームをしながら別画面でTVを見ることはできます。また、左右の画面は自由に大きさを変えることができます。
LAN接続については、メールや携帯から録画予約をしたり、アナログ放送の番組表取得、ROMの更新に使います。PCでの録画視聴はできないようです。
スピーカーの音はなかなか良いと思います。クラシックを聴いていて、非常に音の広がりが良く感じました。カタログにはオンキョーとの共同開発となっています。
あまり機器にこだわるタイプではありませんが、全体的に非常に満足しています。

追記（2008/4/19）
6月下旬にアップデートによってダビング10への対応が発表されています。
公式サイトで対象機種に入っていることを確認いたしました。
以下抜粋しますと。
＞バージョンアップをすることで、6月2日から運用開始が予定されているダビング10番組については、デジタル放送録画出力端子を使って、アナログ標準画質信号で、ハードディスク＆DVDレコーダーなどへのダビングが可能になります。

番組表から直接録画予約できる一貫性が分かりやすくて非常に便利。
今すぐニュースも意外に使える。
今後HDD内蔵機は増えると思うが、その指標になる一台。
