先行で切られたシングル“The Moneymaker”には色んな意味で度肝を抜かれたが、本作を聞いて一安心。

過去最高にわかりやすくポップな内容。二作目みたいな若い感情が大爆発しちゃってる作品を期待しているファンが今でも大勢いることには驚きだが（もうそんな歳じゃないでしょ）、ソロ活動を経て、ありのままの自分を曝け出しちゃってくれているジェニー・ルイスを見ることができるだけで僕なんかは大満足です。いい歌詞書くなー。
根っこの部分にカントリーがあるのは周知のとおり。そのうえで、前作に引き続き今回も曲ごとに色々なスタイルに挑戦しているが、どれも割とうまくいってると思う。The Electedでも活躍しているブレイク・シュネットがリードヴォーカルを務めてる曲も相変わらずいいし。この色男のギタープレイの充実っぷりが聴きどころかも。

何より、アルバム全体で37分しかない。そこがいい。完成度の高い11曲をしっとり聴いて短く終わる。それでまた頭から再生。繰り返し繰り返し。これがポップスの真髄だと思うけど、今こんな贅沢を叶えてくれるバンドがどれだけいることか。もっともっと売れてほしいなぁ。

　私も1stシングルのThe Moneymakerを聴いたときは、お色気風ポップスの曲調に、こんなのライロじゃないとがっかりして、アルバム自体も嫌いになってしまいましたが、発売から一年近く経って今聴いてみると、結構イイと思うようになりました。
　4thはゴスペル調の曲といわれ（ゴスペルの音楽が何たるかなんてのを僕はよく知らないわけです）、今までの作品とスタイルを変えても魅力を失わないライロはやはりすごいのかもしれません。
