台所の窓からふわふわ飛び出してしまったり、
えも言われぬ振り付けで踊ってたり、
なぜかミュージカル仕立てだったり、
iPodのCMで気になってからというもの、興味が募るばかりだったファイスト。

早く聴きたい衝動を押さえつつ1stアルバムから聴き、
ようーく味わったところで、ようやくこのアルバムを聴きました。

「Let it die」もかなり個性的でいい曲が揃っていますが、
この「The Reminder」は、ちょっと変わったアレンジやコーラスなど
個性に磨きをかけながらも、それがポップで聴きやすい音楽として上手く昇華された名盤。
1曲1曲に、ファイストという人の体臭がきちんと織り込まれている分、
前作よりもさらに完成度の高い作品になっていると思いました。

レコードでは多彩なアレンジが施されてポップス風に仕上がっていますが、
実はこの人、ギターもかなり上手い。
ライブでギターを掻き鳴らす姿に自然体の姿勢を感じたりします。

ソウルミュージックとか、オルタナティブとか、
何らかのスタイルに因った個性には興味が湧かない私ですが、
ファイストという人の個性には久しぶりにワクワクしました。
ヒットして、有名人になっても、このままの姿勢でいてほしい人ですね。

　あのｉＰＯＤのＣＭの声質と歌い方にハマったヒトは、是非、ご購入されても間違いないです。私はこの手のシンガーに弱いです。
　既出アーティストでは「Ｒｅｇｉｎａ　Ｓｐｅｋｔｏｒ」あたりに似ていますが（ちょっと癖のある英語がネガティブではなく逆にキュートなところも同じ）、あちらは自身がピアノ弾きですが、こちらは自身がギター弾きです。
　フランス界隈での活動・レコーディングみたいですが、シンプルで余計な演出のないサウンド構成は、素朴でアメリカンな雰囲気です。
　ＣＭソング一発だけではなくどの楽曲もいい出来ですので、外れた、と悔やむことはないハズです。安心してご購入ください。
