Rod 〜と同時発売ですが、2枚を1枚にまとめられたのでは？
どうしても、アルバム収録に達する水準に満たない曲がいくつか…。
それでも、いい曲はあるので、2枚からいい曲だけを選べばなかなか良いアルバムになったでしょうに、残念です。
正直、2枚でこの価格は高いです。

で、どちらかを選ぶとしたら、こっちのCHELSEAの方が良いです。
Rod〜はJUDEに近い曲が多く、ベンジーの手ぐせっぽいフレーズが多く、似たような曲が多かったです。
CHELSEAは、福士さん（ex.SHERBETS)とレコーディングしている曲もあり、グレープジュースIIなどのいい曲が多めな印象でした。

「あなたにもチェルシーあげたい」という、昔のお菓子のＣＭから付けたという、アルバムタイトル。

「愛してる」という静かなロングナンバーから始まるこのアルバムは、同時発売となった「Rod Snake Shock Service」が日常生活のささやかな情景から拾い上げた幸せや悲しみ、希望を歌っているのに対し、悲痛なまでに「人が生きる理由」を追求しているように思える。

浅井氏がたどり着いた、「生きる理由」とは一体何なのか。それは、聞いてからのお楽しみ、というか、聞いた人それぞれで受け取り方が違うだろう。

ただ、「CHELSEA」を通じて、また、「CHELSEA」と「Rod 〜」に通奏低音しているのは、「涙を希望に浄化させる魔法のタネ明かし」だと、私は思う。

「あなたにも、CHELSEA　あげたい」

浅井氏がくれる「CHELSEA」は、お菓子よりもちょっと、ほろ苦いかもしれない。

毎回アルバムが出るたびにいい意味で期待を裏切ってくれるベンジー 今回もバッチリ裏切ってくれました(笑)
長く活動してるとどうしても金太郎飴状態になってしまうミュージシャンが多いですが浅井さんにはその心配はない!って感じです
特にこの『CHELSEA』は最高!! より深い浅井さんの世界に浸りたい方にはこちらがお薦めです(ちなみに『ROD SNAKE〜』も★5つ!!)
それにしても浅井さん福士さんコンビは最強だなぁ〜★★★★★
