　英国出身の個性派プログレ･バンドの最高傑作と呼び声高い､’７４年発表の３rd。
　とにかく個性的なバンドだ。ギター､ベース､ドラム､キーボードとロック･バンドとしての編成に加え､バスーン､リコーダー､クラムホーンなどといった、中世ヨーロッパのバロック音楽に用いられた古楽器を看板に、独自の音楽を作り上げている。
　そのサウンドは､ロマンティックであり､カラフルであり､濃厚だ。単に伝統をなぞっただけの模倣ではなく､あくまでも現代を意識した新解釈により､ロック的なハードなアンサンブルが繰り広げられている。
　１０分前後の大作志向の楽曲も､メロディックで実にドラマティックな展開を持っており､そのサウンドと見事にマッチしている。
　温故知新という言葉がその音楽の世界に当てはまっている、まさに字義通りのプログレッシヴ･ロックだ。
