ゆらゆら帝国にハマるきっかけになったのは、発光体やラメのパンタロンというロック好きの方には比較的すんなり耳に入ってくる曲でした。
しかしその後、他のアルバムやシングルを聴き込んでいるうちに、ボタンが一つ ボーンズ 星になれた ユラユラウゴク等のおとなしめの曲の方も好きになり、最近洋楽を聞く事多いのですが、今私が聴く数少ない邦楽のロックバンドがゆらゆら帝国です。
前作のシングルつぎの夜へに続き今回のシングルも聴けば聴く程良さが増してくるスルメのような曲が4曲も収録されています。
私の前にレビューを書いている人は星の数は一つと低い評価になっていますが、本文を読む限りでは否定的な意見はなくむしろ好評価になっているように思います。
皆さんカスタマーレビューの星の数に惑わされる事なくCD買って是非聴いてみてください。

アルバム「めまい」「しびれ」から続いていたカタルシス排除路線も、
(最もこういう傾向は「少年は夢の中」などの曲にも感じられていましたが…。)
「Sweet Spot」「つぎの夜へ」を経て、このシングルで決着ついたかな、
という印象です。
突き抜けました。


1曲目は
「上品なクソがいい/素敵なクソがなおいい」
「だけどそれはクソさ/同じさ/みんな同じさ」
と歌う、もはやサイケでもガレージでもない
ソウルっぽいダンスナンバー(というしかない曲)。
他も大まかに言えばみんなそんな感じ。

そして具体的にどこがどう以前に比べ突き抜けているかというと、
それは楽曲に清涼感というか、ある種の"気持ちよさ"があること。
ふんわりやわらか、それこそ"ゆらゆら"と踊りたくなってしまうような
お酒に酔ったときのような気持ちよさがあるのです。

僕は最近のゆらゆら帝国はあまり好きではありませんでしたが、
こういう突き抜け方なら大いに"アリ"です。
やはりゆらゆら帝国は最高でした。

「つぎの夜へ」の帯を見て一度CDを全て売ってしまったことを
後悔しながら現在ヘビロテ中です。
非常に聴きやすいのでファンじゃない方も是非!
