ロビンソン （スピッツ）、桜坂 （福山雅治）、
空と君のあいだに （中島みゆき）、最後の言い訳 （徳永英明）、
世界にひとつだけの花 （槇原敬之）、
新録音：
一本桜 〜心根〜、翼をください、一本桜（ヴォカリーズ ヴァージョン）

どれも力強い曲ばかりで、
購入する前は「大丈夫かな〜」って気持ちが少しありましたが、
聴いてみて、さすがプロだと感心しました。
山本さんの歌は、声を高めて歌い通す路線ではなく、
力を抜いてじっくりと聴かせる歌になっています。
だから少しもうるささを感じさせませんし、
よく知った曲が私の年齢の者（４０代半ば）にも繰り返し聞ける
とっても落ち着いた響きになっています。

ソロパートもさることながら、
バックコーラスパートの巧さも特筆ものです。
また最後のヴォカリーズも、息を呑む美しさです。

自分の曲をカバーした前回の「J's」より、
私はこちらのアルバムの方が気に入っています。

いろいろな方が、カバーアルバムを出される昨今。
山本潤子という女性ボーカリストとしての卓越した存在感を示してくれたアルバムだと思います。
青春をその歌声で癒された時代とは、また、一つ違った味わいを感じさせてくれました。
山本潤子さん「サンキュ」です。

これぞ歌手の中の歌手によるカバーの素晴らしさ、です。でも感動したのは歌声だけじゃなくそのしなやかな表現力。歌い手のイメージが曲の隅々にまで行き届き、新しいいのちが通っているのを実感します。同じ曲調なのに気品と優しさで洗練されると、驚くほど物語の表情が変わり澄んだ色彩になります。すると本来もっている旋律の美しさが益々際立ってくるんですね。それは歌声のよさだけでない掌握の凄さではないかと。例えば山下達郎は「カバーをやれない歌手は信用できない」と言ったそうですが、やはり一流歌手のカバーというのは技術だけではなく、内面的な理解と掌握であり、そこへのイメージの浸透とアウトプットであるような気がします。小田和正が彼女を稀代の歌手、と呼ぶ意味の一端もそういう歌力からではないでしょうか。美声だけでなく魂が宿り且つくどくならない、当に邦楽カバーを代表する品質です。

1最後の台詞はこんな素敵な大人の言い方が、と発見。2は癖の強いサビも、洗練されしなやかな説得力をもつ大人のかたちに。7も印象が涼しさに変り、詞の純粋性が増したよう。ここにいるよという透明な鳴りに驚きです。3、4、8は男声曲を女声が掌握してゆくお手本音源かも。5、6、9は一層爽やかで、自身の10はNHK「どんど晴れ」挿入歌。POPSを超えうたとしての存在感が大きく、今作一番の聴き所です。12は無歌詞。11は緩やかなグルーヴでBVには山崎まさよしも。
