発売直後に買いました。駄作だと当初思いました。

でもなんだかんだで、購入から三ヶ月程経った今でも結構きいてます。そして気に入ってます。

アンチ〜がものっそい好きで他はだめだよ、もしくはイマイチだよって人は買うと後悔します。
ポートレイト、アンチ、メカニカルアニマルズ、ホーリー・ウッド等、それぞれその作品なりに好きさ！って人は、きっと気に入れると思います。そういう人にはオススメできます。


マリリン・マンソンを聞いた事ないって人。何か先入観をもたれていたらあれなので、あらかじめ断っておきますが、この作品はハードな作品ではありません。メローな作品です。それから、これも正しくマンソンの一つの姿でもあります。

前作Golden age〜の延長を期待して聴くと肩すかし食らうと思います。割と歌物な曲が多く、激しいと言える曲はほとんど皆無。だが、ジャジーな雰囲気を醸し出している曲や変わらないマンソンの歌い方など旧来のファンでも聴けるのでは。悪くはないです。新たな方向性が見え隠れした大人向けな内容です。

よりメランコリックに、叙情的になったサウンド。
その中にマンソン節が強烈に効き、腐った果実のような危険な甘い香りを放っている。
最初に聴いた時、そんな印象を受けたアルバムです。

『イート・ミー,ドリンク・ミー』というタイトルは
人間を食べてみたいという欲望を持った男が、あるサイトで食べられたい人を募集したという事件をインスパイアしての事らしいです。
結果、その男に返信した一人の男は殺害され
一カ月かけてガーリック等で味付けされながら食べられてしまったとの事。

そんな事件からタイトルを取るなんて、相変わらずマンソンはド変態のようです。

因みにその男は逮捕されましたが、殺害された男に殺されたいという願望があった為
懲役九年という軽い実刑で済んだようです。

そういえば母親を誕生日に殺害し、腕を切り落として植木鉢に挿し
首を切り落として自首した少年の部屋にもマンソンのCDがあったようで
その事を某週刊誌が叩いてましたね(笑)
